no, that's a relaxation process used in the non-strict version
the strict version means that you directly have the same spacing between the chain-links (no relaxation needed) - I still have some issues with that one but I'm solving them right now
I only use QT Creator for the window and menus (since it's portable across Win, Linux, Mac) but everything else (rendering, interaction, sculpting) is my own code using OpenGL 3.3
