Nope, I just found it by reading.

I can actually only read about 80-90% in Spanish, occasionally I have to look up an unfamiliar word or something.

It would have been awesome if you guessed the hint >.> It's a phrase from the popular video game Assassin's Creed I and II, and it's in Arabic. It means: Nothing is true, Everything is permitted. A really cool phrase and video game.

It's no problem not to understand 100%. You definitely learn more by searching unfamiliar words because you learn them in context. Keep it up

Yeah, I'm actually only just in my first year of Spanish. I can barely ask for the time XD But dictionaries are nice to help improve my vocabulary, and poems like these give me incentive to look words up.

I've never played those games, so I guess that's why I didn't get the hint.

Asking for the time is difficult in other countries like Germany XD. But yeah. I mean, I learned english with incentive from video games (if I didn't get it i couldn't play it) The one that made me learn the most is The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I was about 8 years old, and I was the top of my english class XD.

I'm finding Spanish to be a more logical language than English... Everything is pronounced the way it's spelled, the word order makes a little more sense... What did you think of English as you were learning it?

Spanish is more logical in pronunciation and reading, but it can get to be a very complex language in matters of grammar and redacting it yourself. For example there are grammar rules for writing things with an g or a j; with a z, a s or a c; with a ll or a y; with h or without h; with r or rr; with v or b; with m or n; etc. Even I being Mexican got problems in all those complex matters. It is really more complicated than English in matters of writing it yourself.

What did I think? Well, at first I thought "what a weird pronunciation" "Why does the text don't match with the speech?" "Why backwards?" "why contractions?"...

Then everything started to make sense a lot more. I started seeing a lot of tv in english with subs, I started to participate in forums and now it's kinda natural for me to speak english. I even think in english more frequently than I think in spanish. Problem is, I get stuck with "how do you say Xenglishword in spanish?" when talking in spanish; and when talking in english I get all "How do you say Yspanishword in english?" XD

I now laugh at puns in what would be a translated english to spanish (they say something in spanish, my mind listens to it as if it was english and it was supposed to be a pun, I lol and everyone stares at me XD)

The only bad thing tough: English is a very dyslexic language. YEP you can have dyslexia in different languages and not in your native language. English has the greater number of dyslexic people, be it native or foreign. I make more mistakes at typing english than at typing spanish for example. I of course use backspace a lot XD

That doesn't happen with spanish!

Yeah, I've been learning some of those grammar rules. It's tricky sometimes, but I'm getting the hang of it.

The word order doesn't bug me too much. Everyone in class is struggling because it's so unlike English, but it just... Makes sense to me, for no particular reason. I can't describe it, really.

I had a good "How do you say X word in Spanish" the other day... My boyfriend's sister asked what the English word "Indeed" means, and it took the both of us about 3 minutes to figure out how to explain it.
