“H-hey! You there, red girl! Would you mind giving just a moment of your time?” The twisted mermaid speaks, grabbing Maggie’s attention. Maggie turns to face the curious amalgam, two bodies conjoined together around a stop sign. It was truly a puzzling sight.
”I-“ she starts- “We.” Corrects her twin in a masculine voice. “Yes, we. We could use a little help here. I’m in a bit of a pickle. Can you… help? Maybe?”

”I’m sorry, I’m not strong enough to lift something like that. I tried once out of curiosity, thought I could wield it like one of those axes you see on the picture books. I pulled and pulled but-“ She gets cut off by the masculine voice.
“Please, spare use your story. We don’t want to hear it.” He said.
“D-don’t mind him-“ The twin interjects apologetically- “I- We- … we can wait a little bit. Just please don’t forget about us. If you choose to go, that is.”

“I don’t think I can just leave you like this.” Maggie says, with a confused look.

“It- it’s fine, really,” The female twin says, a somber tone in her voice despite the awkward smile. “Just-“
“Come back soon.” Her twin says in a serious tone.
”… please…”

I got this idea and really wanted to draw it. Especially because it actually kinda fits today’s prompt , ya know? A twisted pair of twins imprisoned by a twisted old sign. Might make this MerMay have a bit of a story, not really sure yet. Anyway, kinda went back to a coloring style I’m more comfortable with, but still experimenting.
