The colors are gorgeous; they remind me of sunset - or sunrise. I actually thought the leaves were birds at first, coming to roost in the tree.

It could be because the image is a photograph - not scanned in (alas, I do not have a scanner and have to take pics of my paintings). With a photo you lose a lot of color saturation.
