Description
First watercolour for a while, and only the fourth I've done. A 'worm' type dragon, serpentine and wingless. Similar to the Scandinavian lindorm, though they have only the front legs. I imagine that Scatha the worm - the least significant of the four named dragons in Tolkien's mythology - might be something along these lines. First attempt at a dragon - they are a fun subject due to the combination of great historical / legendary significance on the one hand, and great freedom of interpretation on the other. The scan is rather blurry, particularly around the eye.
