Description
I got inspiration to draw my old character seen here [link] because of and her lovely art.I still don't think she has a name yet, any suggestions? I was thinking Winter, but that'd be too obvious
I did a new technique with this one. I sketched it out, scanned it in, fixed the lines, printed it out in a light blue, inked it, scanned it in again, got rid of the sketchy blue lines, and then printed it out once more. So I have three copies of the exact image
Background was mostly watercolor (leaves done with a sponge) with bits of white acrylic here and there. Details were done by pencil crayon.
It looks much better in real life, but that's the deal with all traditional art isn't it?

I love it! owls are awesome, and ones with arms and wings separate are my favourite!

Yeah, I never really liked the ones that mix wings and arms, or worse yet, give them no wings at all.

What's an owl without the wings?

you're making pictures faster than i can critique, so here's to catch up lol
i really like the background, great perspective
wings and tail are fabulous and very cool furry feet ^^
Seeing lady owl's character almost made me want to draw owl anthros too lol
it's interesting to see that you favoured a head that looked more like an owl, which made me start thinking that the body might look more like an owl, with maybe feathers coming from it (possibly even looking like a feather shirt, i dont know) , but i can't really conceptuallize it myself, so i'm gonna stop there x.x

Better warm up then, I got another one in the works!
If I made the head less-owlish, would you recongise it? And I was thinking of giving her hair, but that didn't seem to fit on a feather based animal. Unless I made her hair our of feathers..
Though I tried that once, it didn't turn out looking too great.

Nope! XD If I remember correctly I told you to keep her 'cause she's cool ;3 How could I forget about one of the most creative character designs I've seen in forever~?

Oh Makes sense!
And I don't think she's the most creative character -ever-! There are several (rare) owl anthros out there

I LOVE those colors, and her shading keeps her mass white-ness from standing out too much in all that red and orange. Good thinking (I wouldn't have thought of that) Her face almost looks a little flat to me, but the longer I look at it, the less I think that. It all looks really nice~ ^_^
And as long as you don't name her Hedwig, I think whatever would be fine

I shaded her with pink, which is weird, because I usually shade white things with blue or grey! But I guess it's much better fitted given the color scheme!
And yeah, the face of an owl is a tough thing Maybe I should have added more shading.. Hmm..
Hedwig, I would die!

Wow, she's lovely I really like the neck and the shaggy feet, it's a great character design and you've done beautiful work with the colouring. The effect you got on the leaves is great ^_^

Thanks! I love the shaggy feet myself Though it took a while to get the shagginess to look like feet instead of just formless shagginess.

Oh and I don't think Winter is nearly as expected "Snowy." XD
For some reason I think Athena, after the goddess of wisdom. But I'd be tempted to find a non Greco-Roman wisdom reference to use for the name.

"Snowy the Snowy Owl" That'd be terrible!
And Athena is a slightly-less obvious name. And she was always my favorite goddess I shall consider this!

Very interesting character design. I really love how the white and cool tones of the figure interplay with the warmth of the background. It's a beautiful effect. The sponge really creates create leaves, too!

Yeah I thought it was interesting, since ususally I do the backwards effect of the warm character vs. the cool background.
And sponges are awesome I should use 'em more.
(Almost done coloring Hikaru, by the way!)

Aww... I love that original design.. so cool. Ahhh I can't think of a name suggestion!
And wow, for some reason I was thinking that was digital XD! The spongey leaves are my favorite part--and the knees. <33
