I love this shot. The bird, the clouds.... I always thought a cloudy sky to enhance the mood in a pic.

I miss when I had a camera. It just stopped working and, I guess it would cost more to fix than buying a new one.
I want a new one but I have other priorities now.

I've only ever had the one. I also work off my phone camera these days (though at 5mp it's hardly the greatest) The first camera I ever used was my mums and it was 3 mega pixels

It's definitely not terrible. In fact I'm a bit jealous. I've never been able to get a good shot of a bird actually in flight

It's not terrible-- you captured the gull very well. The only thing I'd tell you is to watch the horizon line... and in this case, since it's so busy, you might think about cropping it above the horizon.
Birds in flight are tricky-- I avoid them like the plague, b/c I still can't capture them properly. So this is just a thought!

I was being gently (ha NOT) encouraged to get a gull so all I hear is 'there is one coming NOW' and therefore completely missing them -_-

Sounds like me the other day... I'm sitting inside, watching NatGeo and minding my own business, when I hear Misty barking outside. I stand up in time to see this GIANT heron standing over her fish pond before Misty comes tearing across the yard. My camera's about 10' away, so I'm tripping over my own feet trying to get it out of the case and to the window before the bird flies away... trying to take pictures before I turned the $^%^&* thing on...!
But you know, I do tend to agree with Cheezcakelover... You can see a lot of good detail, and the angle is pretty interesting. So I take back what I said about cropping it; it's good just like it is!
