It's impressive how much something simple like baby oil can make colors stand out and pop more. I always kind of wondered what blenders actually do. Thank you for this!

Blender helps colored pencil mix with each orher or let base colour look more "smooth" on paper. It may be difficut to draw over blendered area with some colored pencils, so I usualy use it at the end, after I added all colour layers I wanted. Blender may change colour of pencil/paper to a bit darker one.
Burnisher helps blending color pencil and create gloss layer, I like using it on hair or metal elements. Colored pencil or paper's color is not changed, but gloss layer after burnisher prevent adding any other colored pencils after that. You may be able to to it, but you would have toΒ press pencil very hard and you may break the lead or damage paper.
