Description
High above the Planes of Birth morning approaches as four spectators watch the Proboscis birds (or Snouts) pick their ready-to-hatch eggs from Great Fiber Trees into their back pouches.I guess the team got an early vacation leave and went exploring other worlds 8D
I always loved the art of French comic artists, their works - especially the science fiction ones always had so much imagination in them. This piece is inspired mostly by the movie Gandahar (which I first watched when I was little and I still love) and the works of Moebius (or Jean Giraud) (a tumblr collection of his works here [link] )
You can see my work process of this piece here [link]
Edit 10.03.2012 R.I.P. Moebius - your art inspired so many people and it will inspire us in the future

Wonderful sense of mystery and adventure over this piece and it definetly has a Moebius feel to it.

Ah! I saw this and thought "Moebius!" from the bird design and from the kinds of colors you used. And then the cool cellular-looking lifeforms similar to themes in Gandahar. It rings so true to those influences, but is still distinct. Very nice work!

Thank you! I'm glad I was able to catch the essence of Moebius in this piece - I really admire his works. I think I'll tackle something like this again sometime soon :3
