Description
"Know me by my words" said the author of 'third person journal of paranoid detail-lover'.. and that's what I meant...full view is a "must"... otherwise this photo does not mean anything... i am trying to edit this piece, making the tongue print less obvious.. hope it works..

maybe try a different blending mode to get it softer. maybe a bevel effect to make it stand out more. great concept.

well, when I printed 8x10 and put in on a wall it looks mcuh better. but it is too obvious on your screen because the image size is to big( maybe if you step away from your screen a little, it will work )... but I will consider your suggestion... Thank you...

I bet you were making faces with your eyes, they're probably rolling from left to right
ANyway I liek it a lot, the idea of tongueprint and blocking out your eyes to hide who you are and then the print on tongue, nice idea.

Interesting, buy honestly, I like the black bar over the eyes more than the tongue-print. they are quite good together, too.

the black block makes me want to see the eyes and i keep going to it yet it also forces me to look at the tongue and its back and forth i go .. visually cunning and stunning .. I like it.

At last some to time to comment your sumbission...
You did it again! A very fascinating piece of work! I think BrianofJ's comments cover most of what there is to say concerning the meaning of the picture. What I want to add (or emphasize) is that this is the perfect addition to your latest work, all very intriguing pictures with a sense of anonymity.
As I said BrianofJ did a good job with is comments and I agree to a large extend. I support his thoughts about the print on the tongue. I think a stronger visual effect not always produces a stronger message. I can imagine that a semi-transparent print, with visible structure of the tonque and the print would make the tongue more recognizable, and would intensify the expressiveness of the picture. Now you do not only cover the eyes but you also cover the tongue.
Because of the quite bizar and very expressive execution of this picture I asked some Butfriends and colleagues to comment on this picture.
If your aim with this picture was to have a great effect on people (and I think you had) then you have succeeded. The reactions were various: Some peolpe went silent, some focussed on the subject and noticed that there was a very beautiful woman in the picture , some immediately figured out the idea and were impressed.
But the most amusing reactions came from people who couldn't look for more than two seconds to the picture, because of 'the horrible tongue'.
So in that respect your bold print, did have a big effect!
Great job again. You again and again manage to captivate me with your ideas. Admirer...

Full view is totally a must.
We can be easily identified by the things we said... and how we say them.
At first I wasn't sure about the black bar covering the eyes... but when I saw the tongue everything became clear.

Wow.. ~brain-of-j said it all. I completely agree with what he said. But I think the stark contrast of the "tongueprint" is good. Definitely grabs the eye. Yeah.. seriously great work.

Simply fantastic! I don't think I can elaborate on Brian-of-J's comments, he seems to say it all really. The eye blockage was what did it for me as well, very striking.
YOU ROCK!!
Take care.

Heh, took me quite awhile to build up the courage to open the full version, since from the smaller one it looked like a heavily diseased tounge, but yeah. Anyway now that I'm past that, it's a very cool shot.

great concept. this could open up a whole new career for tongue-print scanner sanitizers.

interesting that you blocked the eyes out. eyes are blocked out in other photos to protect the identity of the person in the picture, so when you do it here, it seems you want to keep the viewer from identifying you by the eyes. i like how you did that to really reinforce the theme of identifying you by your words. the tongue print was a good thing on its own, but blocking the eyes really adds a lot to it. interesting though, is that you want to be known by your words, when on DA it's your photography, the product of your eyes (and heart) that is how people identify you. is this photo and it's description hinting at something else?.... as for the picture itself, it's quite striking. i think a good deal of that visual impact is from the eyes being blocked out. i think that's really the key to this whole thing working the way it does. by blocking the eyes you really emotionally separate the viewer and the subject of the photo (that IS you, right?). without eye contact, a person really can't fully connect with the person in the photo. cutting that line of communication makes the viewer focus on your statement more. i'm so impressed by how big of an effect you were able to produce just by blocking the eyes. the tongue print looks very good too, but i think it's a little to bold. did you use photoshop for that? if so, i think i would have made the tongue print semi-transparent to lighten it and match it to the flesh more, to make it look more natural. although maybe that's not what you'd intended. the overall feel of this photo is so raw and intrusive. the straight on perspective, the lighting used, and the lack of clothing give it a very abrupt feel. this photo is such a direct statement, i love it. all in all, this is just awesome. GREAT job.

Gives a whole new meaning to an artist's signature...
who are you?
I can't see your eyes.
But your tongue, like a tree's rings, exudes its essence, your essence, baring all that your eyes can't tell me...
