Description A closer look at the Arnuban.

Native to the lush world of Nubaria II, many humans look at these 7-9 foot tall aliens and think they are closely related to dogs, when in fact if they are closer to any earth animal it would be the bat. They developed in the deep, numerous caves of their home world, which is covered in forest-choked canyons and cave systems and while wingless, have incredible hearing and a natural form of echo-location.
Culturally, the Arnuban are enamored with magic and metaphysics. However, they have no innate abilities themselves. They use technology to imitate magical effects in everything from warfare to the design of their homes and offices.
They are most famous for their cybershamans: powerful beings who use cybernetics and nanobots to portray themselves as wizards and sorcerors. Regardless of the fact that now most species know its technology, what they are able to do with that technology is real and deadly.

I did this piece both because I like to practice things like this, and I wanted to see how the Arnuban stand up to a close-up. Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

I like it. My only concern is that your character's head disappears with the background which is the same color. Especially in a work like this you want the background to focus the attention to your main focus point, and thus good contrast might be a better way to go. At the moment I feel the focus is more on his staff than the character himself. But it still is a very intriguing character.

both good points. I don't see any problem with head and background on my monitor, but its brand new so might have really good definition (1080 hd).

Looks good, but 5 fingers? How about 4 or 6?

I've done 3 on some species with some pre-made morphs, but I'm just not knowledgeable enough about rigging to do that kind of limb work, esp. with something as posable as a hand. Otherwise I would have probably given them 4 fingers.
