Well, I didn't make them and I don't know how to do this Actually, I searched for "grid" in Google and chose ".gif" file type, copied it and pasted on the photograph in Photoshop. Hope it helps...

You're quite a cleaver old stick on the quiet aren't you.
Very professional looking and extremely informative. I tend to use a combination of 2 and 3 but lately have just been doing lots of complete freehand practice. I think it will be some time before I abandon these methods though.
Thank you for taking the time to produce this though as I'm sure there are many just starting out that will learn gain a lot from this.

An old stick? I beg you pardon!
[Just joking, I got this "phrase" ].
It's good for you! Doing freehand is tricky, but it's a perfect exercise for hand, wrist and eyes ^^ Of course it takes time, but the satisfaction is priceless.
You're welcome and thank YOU! I'm glad you find it informative and useful

Great tutorial! What's your fav method? I use kind of a mixture of all three methods. First I start with like the number 3 and then I switch to 2&1

shaman-art In reply to ??? [2011-09-13 05:53:37 +0000 UTC]
Very helpful! I use a mixture of all three methods. When using the grid I do not draw complete lines anymore. I only mark the points where the lines cross. That makes it easier because I don't have to remove/cover so much later. And for me it leaves a little more room to work freehand but I still have some help with the proportions.
