I made this tutorial because I got tons of questions about my Ed cosplay and "how to do the make-up" was one of them so special for you guys (and especially the girls) I made a tutorial!!

Because I am crazy enough to do!!

Since I am a girl crosplaying this character you can also see this as a girl-to-male crosplay make-up tutorial but some parts are character specific.

Also, this tutorial will not give the same result on everyone's face since the shape of each face is different.
I have a tiny upturned nose, an ovale shaped head and thin eyebrows which I can maniplulate easily with make-up. So don't be dissapointed if you will not get the same result as me.

Stuff you need:

- Eyebrow brush
- Brown dermatograph pencil
- Brown eyeliner
- White eyeshadow/powder
- Brown lipstick
- Cake-make-up W5 from Kryolan
- Wig

1. This is my "normal" ugly not wearing make-up face xD I tried to look as neutral as possible.

2. First put in the colour contacts (if you have them) tie up your hair and add foundation. Since boys has a darker skin colour than girls you have to use a dark tune foundation. I use color W5 cake-make-up from Kryolan. Yes I do look like an alien here xD

3. Add a thin line of brown eyeliner, a line with the brown dermatograph pencil under your eye and brush your eyebrows in a manly shape, which is more rough and straight than that of a woman. In 3b you can see the difference, the right eyebrow is the natural shape and the left one is brushed in a more manly shape. Then use the brown dermatograph pencil to make the eyebrows darker.

4. This part is very character specific, don't use this technique on other characters unless the character has the same badass look as Ed. Use the brown dermatograph pencil to add the lines until the pupil. This makes your eyes appears more open. I made them a bit darker here then usual to show you where to place them. Use white eyeshadow/powder above your eyebrows to light it up. I hope I don't need to explain why you have to do this and that the picture says enough.
Then add brown lipstick to bring back the natural color of your lips.

5. Then at last, put on your wig. In this picture I am looking exactly the same as in picture one, but I look more bad-ass because I chanced the shape of my eyebrows and added some shadows and highlights.

6. Off course you are not done yet cosplaying Ed. Putting up some Ed-ish faces will do your make-up work some justice!!

But... with the costume and some crazy Ed-ish poses the magic will succeed!!

Other tips:

- Don't use black eyeliner, that will be too heavy for Ed since his haircolor is very light.
- Don't colour your eyebrows in the same colour as the wig, this will look unnatural. Just use brown this suites all blonde characters, you can always add a tiny little bit light powder afterwards.
- When colouring your eyebrows, start slowly and make it slightly darker, don't make them dark too fast, fading it out will be difficult.
- Take good care of your wig, a good styled wig is the key for the character.

And at last, experiment a lot, don't be affraid to make mistakes!
