I've had some requests for something like this, so here's an experiment on how I painted this. It's not a true recording, but just me turning on different layers as I worked (I'm pretty chicken so I usually create new layers when I make progress - but hey, it gives me a nice timelapse haha).

Basically I started with the background, then blocked out the ponies on top. After that, I finished the background, and then finally finished rendering the characters and doing some lighting adjustments.
