Description
Oct 7, 2023 UPDATE: Version 5.02
- Updated to work with final version of game.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
This mod allows you to change the movesets for any or all playable Tekken7 characters, to those of other playable characters, and some non-playable characters. All you have to do is type in the two letters next to the names of the two characters in the list, and the first character will inherit the second character's moveset.
Benefits:
- Play with normally inaccessible movesets:
Devil Kazumi, Kid Kazuya (midget with same moveset as Kazuya), Tekken Soldier
- Play with your favorite costumes while using another character's moveset.
- Play as (Eliza, Katarina, or Nina) -> Kazumi:
Removes Kazumi's tiger, so her tiger attacks look like telekinetic attacks.
- Play as (Kazumi or Nina) -> Alisa:
Removes Alisa's saws, saw sounds, wings, and air jets, so it looks like she levitates naturally.
- Play as (Katarina, Kazumi, or Nina) -> Eliza:
Removes Eliza's auras and her horns, making her Rage attack look more telekinetic.
- Play as (Eliza, Katarina, or Kazumi) -> M.Raven: Removes M.Raven's swords.
- Play as (Katarina or Kazumi) -> Anna: Removes Anna's bazooka.
- Play as (Kazumi, Nina, or Eliza) -> Zafina: Removes Azazels's Claw / bandage.
- Play as Anna -> Anyone else: Anna will carry the bazooka all the time.
- Play as Anyone -> Devil Jin: Removes Devil Jin's wings, plasma, and eye beams, so it looks like (s)he
levitates and uses telekinetic attacks.
- Play as Anyone -> Kazuya: Transform to Devil Kazuya (#3 in Moves List), then use Devil Kazuya's
moves without wings or yellow lasers.
- Likewise, you can hide the special effects / items for other characters, simply by playing as another
character with their moveset.
- Silence voices you don't like. For example, Katarina has a rough voice, and Lilly has a rather silly voice.
- Try male movesets with females, and vice-versa.
- Try out movesets of previous seasons' DLC characters, to help you decide if you want to purchase
them.
Limitations:
- Different body / face sizes and types result in distorted bodies and faces.
You can use a non-skimpy outfit like Abrikatin 's Girls Formal Suit to somewhat conceal body
distortion in the shoulders.
- Characters with re-assigned movesets do not have voices (they are silent).
- Some moves or stances of some characters will not be possible for P1. For CPU, all moves are
available.
- For Devil Kazumi, the Moves List only lists Kazumi's normal moves.
However, if you play against the CPU as Devil Kazumi, CPU will use Devil Kazumi's unique moves
against you:
1. She levitates up, then telekinetically blasts you away across long distances.
2. She levitates up, then [her tiger, invisible if she plays as Eliza/Katarina/Nina] levitates you up, and
telekinetically blasts you away.
3. She levitates away from you while staying close to the ground, turns around and comes flying at
you, knocking you down with a flying punch.
It's possible you might be able to use Devil Kazumi's unique moves yourself, if you can figure out the
keystrokes by trial-and-error.
Play as Kazumi -> Devil Kazumi: She will have no voice, her tiger will still be present.
Play as (Eliza, Katarina, or Nina) -> Devil Kazumi: She will have no voice, her tiger will be invisible and
silent (Her tiger attacks look telekinetic).
Installation:
First download and install "Tiny Hexer" version 1.8.1.6 (latest version). This is a free hex editor, which is better than most ones you would pay for. It is a 2.4MB download, available from multiple websites, easily found by Googling "Tiny Hexer download". It is truly clean and free, with no adware or anything else attached to it.
NOTE: Since this mod edits the game executable, you should first back it up. I recommend using your favorite zip utility to do this. The file you need to back up is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TEKKEN 7\TekkenGame\Binaries\Win64\TekkenGame-Win64-Shipping.exe
Once you have Tiny Hexer installed, DOWNLOAD (1.76MB): www.mediafire.com/file/ni25mf7…
Place the contents of the .7z file in this location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\TEKKEN 7\TekkenGame\Binaries\Win64
Click on T7MoveSets_x.yz.mps, and the script will run. (.mps files can be viewed/edited in notepad.)
You can assign movesets to as many characters as you like, just by entering two letters for each assignment and clicking [ OK ]. After each assignment, you will be returned to the same tall window, where you can make more moveset assignments. After you make an assignment, the display will update, e.g., "Alisa -> Asuka " means Alisa is now using Asuka's moves.
Once you are done editing, click [ Cancel ] in the tall window to close it, then click [ Yes ] in the small window which pops up, to save your changes and quit the utility, then launch the game.
Tips:
- You can reset a character's moveset by assigning them to themselves, by typing the same letter twice,
e.g., 'aa' will reset Alisa's moveset.
- You can assign the same moveset to all characters, by using '*' for the first letter, e.g., '*b' to give
Asuka's moveset to all characters. See Note1.
- Likewise, you can assign the same moveset to all female characters, by using '+' for the first letter, or
assign the same moveset to all male characters, by using '-' for the first letter. See Note1.
- You can reset all characters' movesets in a single step, by entering '**'. This restores the game
executable to its original state. See Note1.
- Likewise, you can reset all female characters' movesets in a single step, by entering '++' or
reset all male characters' movesets in a single step, by entering '- -'. See Note1.
- The window in the background is the live hex editor, and you can watch it work as it is controlled by
the script.
Note1: To avoid confusing the script during these lengthy operations, do not operate keyboard or mouse until the operation is completed.

History of Major Updates:
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Mar. 24, 2021 UPDATE: Version 4.15
- Added second character from previous season, Ganryu.
Note that Ganryu is a GIANT, and will distort smaller characters who use his moveset.
- Disabled assigning of movesets to Julia, Armor King, Lei, Negan, Marduk, Ganryu.
The reason is that I do not own these DLCs, and so cannot test their assignments.
There was a possibility they could crash the game if they were assigned movesets.
These characters now appear in the right column.
Their movesets can still be assigned to other characters.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Jan. 23, 2021 UPDATE: Version 4.12
- Fixed a bug which would occasionally cause script to quit or open a "Select data format" window if
the first input entered was '*a' or '+a'.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Nov. 28, 2020 UPDATE: Version 4.10
- Added first character from previous season: Zafina
Characters assigned Zafina's moveset will not have Azazel's Claw / arm bandage.
Zafina assigned other characters' movesets will always have Azazel's Claw.
Best characters to use with Zafina moveset, for minimal distortion: Kazumi, Nina
Good characters to use with Zafina moveset: Alisa, Eliza (Eliza will still have some of her auras)
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Aug. 11, 2020 UPDATE: from version 3.0 to 3.1
Added two primitive (and mostly useless) Movesets, [IDLE] and [WalkGiant]:
- [IDLE] just stands and does nothing.
- [WalkGiant] keeps walking towards or away from opponent.
Note: [WalkGiant] is a GIANT, and will distort smaller characters.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Aug. 10, 2020 UPDATE:
Files updated from version 1.1 to 3.0.
New wildcard characters '+' and '-' have been added for Females and Males:
These wildcard characters may be used as the first character: (See Note1 at bottom of this tutorial.)
* Set all characters to use ...
+ Set all Females to use ...
- Set all Males to use ... (Kuma and Panda are both grouped under Males.)
These wildcard characters may be used as the second character (they all have the same meaning):
* ... original moveset.
+ ... original moveset.
- ... original moveset.
Examples of wildcard use:
*b Will set all characters to moveset b (Asuka).
+b Will set all Females to moveset b (Asuka).
-b Will set all Males to moveset b (Asuka).
* * Will reset all characters to their original movesets.
++ Will reset all Females to their original movesets. (+* and +- will do the same)
- - Will reset all Males to their original movesets. (-* and -+ will do the same)
Note1: To avoid confusing the script during these lengthy operations, do not operate keyboard or mouse until the operation is completed.

It works a bit differently on PC than on XBox or PS4:
This example is for Offline / Practice mode, using an XBox One or compatible controller.
First enable Rage: Menu / Other Settings / Player Rage / On
Then press the directional for "UP and AWAY" and LB simultaneously for Devil Transformation (This is #3 in the Moves List). This is tricky, and may take a few tries.
Once Devil Transformation happens, Rage is no longer needed. You can turn off Player Rage to get rid of the ugly red halo around your character: Menu / Other Settings / Player Rage / Not Set
Now you can use the 10 or so Devil Kazuya moves as many times as you like, for example:
RB Devil Blaster (Levitates up, thrusts foe away telekinetically)
RB RB Reverse Devil Blaster (Levitates up and over to other side of foe, thrusts foe away telekinetically)

Devil Kazumi and Devil Jin movesets are available.
I have not found Devil Kazuya's moveset as a separate moveset. However, if you play as Kazuya, you can access Devil Kazuya's moveset, as explained in these articles:

If you made changes, then when you click on the [ Cancel ] button in the tall window, a small window will pop up asking "Do you want to save the changes you made?", with [ Yes ], [ No ], and [ Cancel ] for choices. (If you click the [ Cancel ] button in this small window, it will take you back to the tall window, where you can continue editing your moveset assignments.)
If you did not make any changes, then when you click on the [ Cancel ] button in the tall window, the utility will immediately exit to the Desktop.
Or do you mean that the buttons are off the bottom of the screen, and you cannot access them? If so, then see my above response to MaGNeticZ0Ne. It gives six possible solutions for working with small screens.

Are you running at a screen resolution of 1366x768? The input dialog was designed for 1080p. It is about 948 pixels tall, and will grow taller if more fighters are added in the future. To be usable, you need at least 915 or so vertical resolution.
Tiny Hexer's script language is limited in what type of window you can have: The window you see is the widest it can be, so I can't add another column, to make a short fat window.
Vertically, I did my best to make it as compact as possible. (For example, the dividing line between FEMALES and MALES does not take up an extra line, and the "MALES:" label does not take up an extra line.)
Solution 1: (I believe this is unlikely to work)
The font size in these windows is fixed by Tiny Hexer, and can't be changed. There is one possibility that might work, though I am not too optimistic. Somewhere in Windows you can change the screen font size. It is possible (though I doubt it) that this will also change the font size in this window. A smaller font will give a smaller window.
Solution 2:
If you are using a laptop which is limited to 1024 x 768, see if you can hook up an external monitor or TV to get higher resolution. Most TVs are 1080p, which will work. Some cheaper ones are 720p, which won't help.
Solution 3:
Does your setup allow rotating the screen 90 degrees (from landscape mode to portrait mode), to get 768x1366?
Solution 4: (This alone will not help enough to be useful.)
Do you know how to hide your taskbar? Though with 768 vertical resolution, you still won't be able to use the tall dialog window normally.
Solution 5:
Get a printout of the tall dialog from the above image, or write down the letters and characters starting with Noctis. Use this for reference, for the stuff you can't see.
What you can do is click anywhere on the tall dialog window, then type the two letters, then hit ENTER. ENTER works the same as clicking on [ OK ].
When you are done making changes, instead of clicking on [ Cancel ] you can click on the X in the upper right of the tall dialog. This may work a bit differently than clicking on [ Cancel ]: It may quit the script and leave you in Tiny Hexer. In that case, simply close the Tiny Hexer window, and if you made any changes, Tiny Hexer will ask if you want to save the changes. Click "Yes" to save the changes you made, or "No" to discard your changes.
Alternatively, you can try hitting the TAB key twice, then ENTER. (Pressing TAB twice should change the highlighted button from [ OK ] to [ Cancel ].) Not to worry if you get it wrong - the script will show you a message saying that you need to try again, and will send you back to the same tall dialog window.
Solution 6:
Does your display driver support virtual screen resolutions which are larger than the physical resolution of the screen?

Okay,i managed to edit the script itself to match the current version's size, and it opened, you can enter ab for example in it,and it shows that Alisa => Asuka changed. Then you cancer.save,go to a game using modified win64.exe but in game nothing is changed. So either it requires more extensive script editing,or it simply doesnt work.

Do not attempt this hack! The utility is writing to the wrong locations in the game executable, because the older game file has everything in different locations, and results will be completely unpredictable. The only thing that is predictable is that none of the movesets will be changed, even though the hacked utility will now wrongly show that the moves have been changed.
When hacked in this way, the utility reads the game executable's data from the same wrong locations it wrote to, so it thinks it is making the correct modifications to the game, even though it is not. This is why the utility checks the executable and refuses to run if it is a different version. To prevent corrupting the game file, this filesize check should not be disabled.
Hopefully you made a backup of the game executable, and can restore it. Otherwise, you can run Steam's "Check game files" utility, and it will patch or reinstall the game.

Its not a problem,i did several backups, and yes,i checked the scripted install path,it doesnt match mine. But i did edit everything that lead to it,so it actually opens the exe.and shows the correct info of it during process. Thanks anyway,it was a good and interesting thing, though without specifiying what version of the game it is created to specifically, its sadly useless atm.

This utility only works with the current Steam version as of Sept. 19 2019, which is 1.01 (File version 1.0.1.0).
(If this utility is used with a different version of the game, it will immediately display an "Incompatible Version" message, and quit. This is to avoid errors which would result if data was written to a different version of game file.)

Too bad it is written for the very last version of the game,it seems.I tried using it on version prior to Zafina's introduction, with Negan and Julia( I dont have net to update the game on another PC) and it says error versions incompatible.
Do you think you could fix it by making it at least applicable to previous patch version?

Unfortunately this would be a major reprogramming effort. The different versions of the game store all the data in different locations. So I would have to find around 50 addresses and re-enter their hexadecimal values in to the database, which starts out as a spreadsheet, then gets reformatted by another spreadsheet page, goes through further editing, then gets exported to CSV format, then gets edited in text mode, and finally gets edited in Tiny Hexer Hex editor, before it is ready to be used by the script. Next, the script would have to be tested to make sure that all the moveset assignments were working, to make sure I did not use any wrong addresses: The three-letter codes appear in multiple locations in the game file, and it takes trial-and-error to figure out which are the right ones. (Though the screencap above shows all the codes adjacent to each other, that is the initial list which is used to obtain the character codes. It is not the multiple locations where the moveset assignments are recorded.)
Complicating matters further, there were a few different versions of the game already, even prior to Zafina's introduction, so to keep everyone happy I would have to repeat this whole process multiple times.
As it is, I'm not sure I will be updating this utility for future versions of the game, as the effort to patch it is considerable. Not only does the 300+ line .mps script file have to be updated (which is not too bad), but the .hex file also has to be re-done from scratch each time, which is a major task.
(The script checks the game version, to avoid writing to the wrong locations, which would corrupt the game. If the game is a different version, the script displays a message to that effect, and quits.)
(When a newer version of the game comes out, all characters will be reset to their original movesets by the game. This utility will no longer work, until (and if) it is updated to work with the newer version of the game.)
