My crappy wolf drawing tutorial. I'll make a better one eventually, and I have to make a pup tut as well. Although pups are really the same but with different proportions.CLICK DOWNLOAD. It's a .zip file with five different scanned pics showing the five steps.
For anyone who needs me to explain the steps:
1: Draw three circles. These will become the wolf's body.
2: Draw two curvy lines like these, one in front and one at the back.
3: Draw in the head circle, connect it to the body circles with a line. Draw in another cuvry line and make hoof-like shapes. These will become the paws.
4: Draw another curvy line for the tail and a rectangle-type shape for the muzzle.
5: This is a big step. Do your basic outline - no fur detail yet - and fill in the details like eyes, ears, nose, and paw detail. Add the other front leg and paw. NOW you add the fur detail. Ink and colour.
This goes the same no matter the pose, you just put the legs and head in different positions and give different expressions. But I hate this wolf's head.

Yeah, my style has changed heaps since I made the tutorial. Tail's still fluffy because that's how I draw them best, but other than that I think I've improved loads. It helps that I taught myself to draw lions and similar big cats. From there, my wolf style improved.

My new fursona goes by the name of Shandeh (my journal has a thumbnail of the ref sheet), I have Argyle and Lockdown (to be seen in my gallery, will upload a full body pic of Lockdown later or you can have a look at the old ones, but her foreleg bandages don't come up all the way anymore and I've dropped the collar).
I would much prefer a pic of one or both of my writing account personas (see ~ShandehLITERATURE for descriptions of both). I don't care which if only one is possible (say, if the gift maker can draw humans but not Sangheili) or even if they get wolf-i-fied or turned into lions or saber toothed cats or whatever the heck you feel like.
Basically, surprise me!

The 2 things I struggle with most.

awesome, can't wait. Ah, fangs. They curve backwards - that's most people's biggest mistake. They aren't such an integral part of her design anyway, as long as all her markings are correct. Once I've got the big cat tutorial done it'll have some stuff about manes of different kinds, like a lion's mane and her mane and my other mane style which can be seen on Tamorayne's ref sheet (Tam's a shapeshifter 8D)

You need to be a subscriber. There's a thumbnail code, but only subscribers can post thumbs. You copy and paste the code into where you want it to be.
Subs aren't that expensive, really, and they're more than worth the money. I just wish my brother ~Arratra would see that and get himself a sub.

Ah, shivers, it's not cheap in Aussie dollars anymore. My 12 month subby was bought when the Aussie dollar was 96 cents to the US dollar.
It's something like US$30 for a year. Says $30 on my subscribe page (I have my currency set to AUD) and I have it half off because I'm already subscribed and I have tons of time left.
Prepaid subs and billed subs don't cost any more than each other except that you can opt for one month or three months in billed subscriptions, whereas you get three months or twelve months with prepaid.
