Description Note: This is one the paintings for my final thesis project.

Short summary of the main theme:
A simple but highly important issue in collective idea of life is that “human beings” has a meaning. But the “meaning of man” is something that is likely been buried long ago. It is something very rarely considered that “the life of man is important in some way”. Not many in this busy life know for sure who or what a man actually is or should be according to many important things. The sense of true belief is missing. A belief on something, a meaning that makes man all precious and important as he should be, because he is. This buried thought is depicted as something that is rejected just like a crumpled paper. An old thought thrown away as mankind aged along time and swirl of the world.

Reference and inspirational aspects:
Combination of a few quotes and my own taste with this particular topic, I chose some selected verses from the exclusively divine poetry of Allama Iqbal’s.

Koee ab tak na samjha ke insaan,

Crumpled surfaces: Thing in rejection
Figure: As a wanderer
Figure on left far side: One reaching for somewhere.

I like your story behind the painting than the actual painting itself. I feel that it gives it more purpose. But good work though.

The first comment, from *Adoniram, said some of what I wanted to say already, but not all of it, so I'll press on. I find this picture beautiful but at the same time very lonely, very desolate. It might be the small uncrumpled space around the man that adds to the impression of loneliness and desolation, like not even the crumples are with the man. The shapes the wrinkles make remind me of pictures of the Badlands in South Dakota, or of pictures of the desert with sand dunes and no plants anywhere. That too adds to the impression of loneliness. The yellows in this picture add to that impression also, but I can't put into words why that is so. This is beautiful in a way that makes me want to cry, whereas the other one I commented on is beautiful but seems uplifting. It could be in part your intention, or it could be how I react to yellows and blues.

This picture reminds me of a few of ^frail's pictures, so if you enjoy your picture (because it's not automatic that an artist likes what is created, but the artist must create anyway) you might enjoy his gallery. I think I'll go notice you to him as well.

well, to start off, I didnt read ur comment, because i think u talked about ur painitng, and i dont like to read what the artist meant by it, i like to analyse it myself...

I find this piece amazing, showing the human self in the past and the present. It's like, there is so much going on in it, because of the burnt paper... I think this is a paper that is burnt, this is why it has this colors, and it has this form, and the black borders...

and in it, it shows the human soul, where he looks so healthy, and so "good". There was a time when the human soul good indeed, but this was in the past, and today's life has killed it, has burned the memory of the goodness of the soul , and left it weary and tired.

I love how it shows that no matter how much screwed up the whole piece is, the man/soul still look intact and still gives hope that things can be better once again....

I dont know if this is what u meant, but this is what i saw in it

amazing concept from where i stand, and this is a definit

Close enough my friend. Very close enough.

I must say I truely appreciate your insight and that you took this much time to analyse it yourself. It's a rare thing to see these days.

Thanks a lot for the fav and appreciating this piece.

I'm not sure if I'm correct, but to me it looks like a man lost in him/herself.
You know those moments when you can't find a single coherent thought to hold on to, nothing is clear and your mind is just... crumpled....
Anyway, that's how I "read" it.

It's very beautiful and emotional.

I liked how you read it. Indeed you just came to a state where I landed after making all themes and going through the lot of the ideas and work.........every thing just crumpled up. I wondered if that emotion of mine is really depicted among these.... through your comment, I guess it is.

thank you.

Hmm, I like the other piece I commented on greatly, but I think the colour scheme in this one is more pleasing to the eye.

I imagine this work is even more powerful in its proper media and size but nonetheless it is an excellent effort. I particulary appreciate teh sense of landscape the "crumpling" of the manuscript/paper/implied surface gives... a sense of mountain backed by darkening skies... particularly with the figure drawn being a silouette and on a seemingly reflective surface. I also appreciate the balance the two darker crevices give to the wieght of the figure drawing. I get the sense that it its proper dimensions the left hand portion of the canvas would be out of balance and the viewer would find themselves stuck in one part of the frame. I think the dark forms help counter-act this imbalance. The monochoromaticism/analogous color aids the sense of rejection here too, evoking a better sense of a temporary or draft form of creation. I wonder if this helps solidify your goal of "wandering" because I don't believe that communicates particularly well, though a sort of solitude does. Wanderlust seems out of the philosophical picture though. All said and done, tremendous image and creation. Welcome to DA. Ciao.

You're welcome, of course. I do my best to comment on all work with a sense of gravitas and breadth so that it might actually be useful rather than "hey, that's neat!" which happens to be of a high occurance. I'll DevWatch you to see what all you come up with. I realize this piece is complete but will still comment with the same veracity. Cheers. ~Adoniram
