Shot of the lower panel to the "Mercenary" piece. Some photoshopping to paint out the poor surface i took the photo on. will submit a better image when i find a suitable surface/lighting situation.*************
Materials include:
-paper: handmade, tissue (i.e. kleenex), construction (note the reddening of the body)
-ink: india, silver, turquoise, tobacco
-staples
-silver wire
-charcoal
Created for a Drawing II class during the spring semester of 2005. originally titled the "Shitpile Man" because i poured my heart into a piece that the professor called (among other degrading things) "uninspired." Needless to say, i was a little peeved as a result, and threw the work into a cardboard portfolio under my bed for a year. Pulled it out to find the staples rusting and the wire tarnished.
He became the Mercenary.
Angsty, verging on emo with the staple heart...but i stand firmly by this one. Check out the other submitted shots.
