I started on the bottom half and covered except for a thin strip. Luca completed the top half from the strip left uncovered. And each half independently had its own story which fit together when it was finished we discovered ^_^ In my half i was thinking of the Small World properties of neuronal networks and social networks like dA or FB.... the cell is a Spindle cell, a type of neuron thought to be important in sociable behaviour. Although i have no idea whatsoever if spindle cells are involved in small world-type behaviour anywhere other than this picture - i take no responsibility for the scientific accuracy of my subconcious But Luca also told me about his half and how there are stories in Italy (and probably everywhere else) about couples being driven to divorce by technological addictions like to social networking/FB/etc - the faces are a couple from a painting by Van Eyck (i hope i spelled that right) except this time they are splitting up.
So... Its accidental combined stories about social networking, many-armed neurons and giraffe skinned technorganic renaissance divorce....
...I think? Who really knows... I don't care, i love it so it has a happy ending
