Description
Doodled this last night. It's been so long since I've tried to draw Mario that I had to give it a go. It's been ages since I've seen the super plumber in his Racoon suit, so I thought I'd hit two birds with one stone and draw him in Superstar Saga style. (As some of you know, the Racoon suit never appeard in Superstar Saga.) I really liked the colours they used for him. Especially the fact that they changed those multi-layered blue eyes of his to black. Simply, because I remember I had problems making them when I was little. (Also, have you noticed that Mario is the only plumber in the world without "plumbers cleavage"? Well, apart from Luigi. Must be the reason they call him "Super")Enjoy and all that

YAY! I want to play Super Mario Bros. 3. I have an NES, but no games for it. I'm planning on getting it for shoe Mario, raccoon Mario, and Ludwig von Koopa.

Well, if you manage to get a copy, go for it. One of the greatest platformers ever made. Still have my old NES on display, but It's probably too busted to play on at this point.

I will. I bet kids sell it at garage sales at a cheap price not even realizing it's $100 or more now...

I love how you made it look like the official artwork for the Mario & Luigi series.

This is probably my favorite style. I really love the simple black eyes and 'M' being black also. And the way his nose seems blemished, or just really greasey. I think it gives Mario an all more pleasant look.
I also really like how the shadows are done in a shade of grey. Majoras Mask art also had a similar style.
You did a really nice job of capturing the essence of the style.

That's a really excellent take on the Superstar Saga style as well as it being very well drawn. When I was little I used to be really scared of the Mario games on NES >.< yet I still watched the Supershow back then.
Yep, the Raccoon powers do bring back loads of memories...

Hmm... scared of Mario eh? Well, I can't complain, I'm scared of small, noisy, flying things. It's too bad they didn't air the newer episodes here. I would have liked to see the real Bowser, instead of his more crocodile-like self.
I'm thinking of doing a Luigi as well. Maybe combine the two for a wallpaper. Just wish my scanner worked though...

The mushroom is evil! It tries to kill you by walking around very quietly, minding it's own business. Luckily, Mario always saves the day by murdering every one he comes across.
(Or maybe they're just playing tag...?)

HAhaha! I had forgot about "Burm". But hat was Super Mario Bros. 2, and that one didn't even have goombas in it. But I guess it's useble for the other games. "Come on Luigi! Let's burm thease Koopas!" "Mama mia!"

Hehe, naturally. I was hoping that they would aim it more towards SMB3, but they seem to making something more simmular to the original Super Mario Bros. It still looks exelent though. Like most of Miyamoto's games it's more focus on gameplay rather than graphics anyway. I just hope they include the level-selection they had in SMB3 and World. It added that little extra spice I think.

Do you think that would work, for an RPG?
The world map, I mean.

Ah, you meant Mario & Luigi 2. I thought you were referring to the New Super Mario Bros sequal. Well, Superstar Saga was an exelent game and most importantly, original. I'm really happy that they've finally found a good way to use the two screens in an RPG. I mean, using the A-B system for four characters on separate screens is making good use of the hardware.
I've never been that much a fan of the whole "level up til you drop" system most RPG's use. However, If you're skilled in M&L, you can win without exsessive leveling. I still haven't beaten that Fawful guy in his last form, I'll need to take care of that before the sequal is released. Don't know what to expect from the new game though. They really did a great job with the first one, so I haven't settled any hopes for improvement yet.

For the last fawful, you just need really good attack and defense power. I actually had to start over, because the first time I played through I only upgraded HP with the "level bonus", so it made the game very very hard.
I loved the form of M&L, it makes me wonder just how you're going to operate four seperate characters at once.
Oh wait. the DS has four buttons, nevermind.
