The two made their way down the docks, keeping their eyes peeled for any ambushers. In front of them was a rather large river that intersected a small area of forest, he doubted Rythian would be over there given the fact that he would have to either swim across, risking the burns to his skin that would make him weaker, or build his way over, which would leave him an open target in the middle of a river. Also if Rythian wasn't over there Lalna wouldn't be either, if they were still together.
"I know what you're thinking, but I think Sips would disqualify them if they split up, after all it has only been twenty minutes." the elf stated from next to him, interrupting his train of thought. He turned his head to her, but she continued to look forwards. It seemed she didn't like to make eye contact, that must have got on Xephos' nerves a bit then, but he obviously put up with it.
"Yes that is good, but i'm more worried about Martyn at this point. After all the forest is his... 'territory'."
They built across with dirt and crossed the river, to the left of them was a boat... and humming. Whoever it was, they were female, that was for sure. They peeked through a hole that was in the side of the wooden boat, to see a quiet gruesome sight. Dan Bull was sharpening a knife with a stone, singing to himself as he did so. Next to him was Kim, who was looking through some chests and humming along. To the front of the casual pair was an unrecognisable person, suspended in a large spider web, deep crimson blood across the floor and dripping down the web and walls.
"Devil may cry, never say die, end any enemy whenever they try, body count rising every time, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight-"
Ridge turned to where Xevphera was stood, but she wasn't there.
"Nine?" his partners voice came from near the other two.
The reaper looked forwards to see the elf stood inbetween the oblivious Dan and Kim with her arms folded casually.
Dan jumped back in surprise and cut his thumb open. "Ohhh careful." the elf taunted.
'What's she doing? Is she crazy?!' Ridge thought to himself. He decided to sneak around to the other side of the boat and break in so that he could ambush the new members of the games before they hurt the elf, they wouldn't foil his observations.
"How did you get there?!" Kim asked as she jumped up from her seat, an iron dagger in her grasp.
"More importantly, where's Ridge?!" Dan asked as he looked around, aware that there might be an attack, but not entirely ready for it.
"Don't worry, Ridge wont be bothering us, it's just you three, and me. Who you got there anyway?" the elf turned to the suspended man and lifted their blood stained hair from over their eyes. They looked up sorrowfully at the elf, who couldn't help but feel bad for him, after all he was just a kid, and so very lost without Martyn. "Toby." she said sadly and the boy squirmed as he tried to release the webs grip on his limbs, only making himself bleed out more and get more tangled in the sticky webbing.
A cold metal knife was put around her neck "Stop me from doing it, I dare you. Show me what you got, elf." Dan taunted, causing Xevphera to smirk.
"Not used to hearing you so, unfriendly, Dougleby." at that the man gasped and released his grip. The elf turned to face the two.
"I told you not to call me that anymore."
"Dougleby? Wasn't that the name of a rampaging murderer a few years ago?"
"I'm not Dougleby!" Dan shouted and put his hands to the sides of his head, hunching over.
"Yes you are Dan, I created you remember... Heh, heh." another voice came, though still from Dan's mouth.
"Dan?" Kim asked, ignoring the elf's smirk. Ridge stood behind Toby and the spider web and made his way past a gap, careful not to get his coat caught in the web.
He grabbed the elfs arm, softly and put his finger to his mouth, signalling for her not to panick. She nodded and they turned back to the other two. Kim was next to Dan, trying to get him to calm down as he whispered to himself.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he shouted, throwing himself into the air and slashing the knife around, cutting his teammates throat with the blunt blade. Kim put her hand to her throat and took a step back as the rupee substance dripped from her hand and the knife, where her skin still hung, ripped and tattered. She spluttered, red splattering from her open mouth like petals falling in the autumn. She dropped to the floor, her body decomposing into the air before it even hit the ground.

:Kim was slashed by Dan's knife:

The two looked up to Dan, who was going berserk, slashing the knife around manically, he noticed the two. Ridge stepped in front of the elf and put his back to Dan, his head still facing him. The crazed rapper ran for them, slashing Ridge across the back with his sharp nails. The reaper yelled in pain as he felt the slash marks dripping with blood. He began to cast a fireball in his grip, but before he could shoot Dan began to disappear... Sips was obviously disqualifying him due to the fact that he killed his partner.
'Phew' Ridge thought.

"Yeah, Ridge you can let me go now." the elf said. Ridge turned to see that he still had his hands around the top of her arms. He let go and rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.
"How did you know about Dougleby?"
"I used to be quiet good friends with Dan, back when I was exploring Tektopia."
"You get around don't you?"
"Yep."
The pair turned to Toby, and looked at each other as if questioning whether they should cut him down, but before they could do anything and before the frightened boy could even so much as scream, his head was decapitated by the pincers of a gigantic spider, juggled in the air and dropped into the black beats mouth... Whelp.
