Spending the night in Simon's shack
"ohh god." Honeydew exclaimed as they stood in the dark little shack they had built. "This is awful isn't it? This is awful."
"Um..." Was the only answer his space-friend could think to give. "Yeah, so I mean, what's, what's gonna happen out there? What about the sheep and the cows and everything that's out there?" He looked through the four little windows that were in the door. "Are they, are they not gonna have any... are they all gonna get eaten and there's gonna be none... left...?"
"Um..."
A cow mood in the distance.
Xephos looked back to his friend. "Oh god... that... that cows moo got cut off..."
"I don't think the um..."
It mood again.
"Oh." Honeydew chuckled. "There he is, he's back."
"He's fine..."
"He's..."
"Ok, I can still hear him."
"Yeah... he's, back, um."
Xephos laughed. "He's ok."
"I think, the, the cows are kind of safe, they're safer than we are certainly. Um..."
There was a moment of silence, and even though the spaceman couldn't quite make out what his friend was doing, the dwarf turned back to him in the dark.
"There we are I think we're completely encased in a wooden house now... Um..."
"Oh god... ok..."
"The issue is..." The dwarf stepped forwards and opened the door. He walked back in. "Is there anything out there Lewis?" He asked, using the codenames they had made for each other. It would take some getting used to.
The spaceman walked to the door and looked around.
"You have a look, have a look... See..." Honeydew laughed as his friend walked further out the door and timidly looked around.
"Oh god... There's something over there... Simon... over there..." Even getting used to saying there other names would take some getting used to.
"Is there?" Honeydew asked. The spaceman turned back round to see that the dwarf had closed the door on him.
"Oh Jesus.." Xephos said. They both laughed and the spaceman opened the door again, but turned around and continued to look around curiously. He always liked looking at the stars. The sinister monsters on the other hand, he could live without. "No!" Xephos said to his dwarven friend, but instead of walking back inside to be safe, he began wondering around, he walked round the side of the little wooden shack.
"There's something out there." Honeydew laughed as Xephos made his way back round to the front of the house.
"Oh god! There's something, there's something.." He opened the door and ran back inside.
"Get in! Get in!" Honeydew said.
"Whoaahh, god!" The spaceman answered. He made a few strange noises.
"Close the door! Close the door!" The dwarf said as they both tried to close the door. It opened and closed and then opened again. They continued trying to close it. Once again it closed and opened. "Oh god!" Honeydew shouted. This continued a few more times. "No! Stop it! Look I'm closing the fucking door!" The dwarf stated. Xephos laughed as the door continued to open and close. "Look just! Stop! Pressing the door!"
"I'm guessing the door isn't a very good idea. Can't we just..."
"Ok there we go."
The door was finally closed.
"Oh god I can hear...." Honeydew stated, listening to some of the noises from outside.
"Cant we just brick it up?"
They stood in silence for a few moments, listening. There was a strange sound outside, like a bow and arrow... or bones knocking together.
"Can you hear that?" Honeydew asked. He brought his voice down to a whisper. "I think there's a skeleton outside..."
"There's a lot of sheep bah-ing." the spaceman answered. He watched as his friend stepped forward and opened the door slowly.
"I'll just check." He whispered. "Um..."
The spaceman watched Honeydew looking around from the 'safety' of the shack.
"Hmmm..." There was a light noise of the dwarf breaking something, but from inside the curious spaceman couldn't see what. "That's strange I can hear... something..."
"Be careful out there friend..."
"It's fine, I know what I'm doing Xephos, it's, I'm an expert at this game." The dwarf answered, walking back into the spaceman's vision. Xephos himself took a step out the door again. "I've played..." He stopped talking and was pretty soon running back to the door, shouting. "OH MY GOD IT'S STREIGHT OUTSIDE!" they both ran back inside and into their own corners of the shack. "Oh my god! ...Look, ok, let's, let's not panic." The dwarf said, calming down a bit as the spaceman closed the door. "It's not actually doing anything... I think, it's sort of a bit stuck... um... ok... crafting table." The dwarf turned to the crafting bench. "Put..."
"Ok"
"Put a stick in the centre middle" Xephos did as he was told. The dwarf chuckled. "The centre middle, I don't even know what that is, um, put a stick in the, in the bottom middle... square... and above it put... a block of wood, and another block of wood, so you've got..."
"Oh..." Xephos looked down at the things he'd been doing and gave a slightly confused look.
"So you've got a, a verticle line, right? So you've got..."
Xephos rearranged some of the things and looked down at what he had made.
"And what... what has that made you?"
"Oh, right ok. So you want..." He pulled the sword from the crafting table. "Ok, ok I get it, I get it. A sword."
"So we have a shitty wooden sword." Honeydew stated.
"Ok."
"We're gonna defend this property. Alright?" The dwarf asked, picking up his own newly crafted sword and opening the door.
"I feel a bit safer now, though."
"From my cold, dead hands! You skeletal mother-fucker!" Honeydew steadily walked outside, followed by his space-friend. "He's gone Lewis." He stated, before yelling and running back towards the door, where the spaceman had already shuffled back inside. "Oh god he's there! He's there!"
"Oh god there's one in front of us!"
"He's right there."
Xephos chuckled at his friend.
"Hang on, ok..."
"There's one over there as well Simon. Honeydew, where's, where's the sk..."
"He's... right around the corner of the house."
"Oh..."
"The house..."
Xephos took a weak swing and backed away as the skeleton crept round the corner, holding a bow.
"Oh god he's right there!" The spaceman stated. He watched his dwarven friend walk closer to the skeleton and start attacking it. "Oh Jesus..."
"He's round the back..." Honeydew stated. "I think I hit him once."
Xephos looked round the other side of the house for a trace of the skeleton.
"Oh god something's..." Honeydew said as the spaceman turned back to him, having noticed the skeleton.
"Get off my lawn..." He said as he walked closer to his friend.
"Ow. Ow. Ahhhhh! He's right behind me!"
"Looks like they got bow and arrows..." The spaceman stated as he saw the two new skeletons that had popped up. Honeydew chuckled. "Bow and arrows... oh god there's one there!"
"There's, oh god!"
"There's two!" Xephos stated as they both stepped away from the house.
"Oh god lets, lets just... we can do this, there's two of us, there's two of them."
"Oh god has that guy gone in our house?" Xephos asked.
"We've got good odds." Honeydew walked back towards the door, past another skeleton.
"There's another one over there on the right! Honeydew, coming." Xephos stated as he followed his friend. He walked up to the skeleton and hit it with his sword, engaging it in combat. "Careful friend!" He called over to Honeydew as the dwarf started a fight with another. "Friend!" The skeleton in front of him disappeared as he killed it and the other skeleton set its sights on him. He attacked it and then walked around a bit from it so that it didn't hit him.
"Oh god." Honeydew called. "Oh gooood!" He repeated.
"Oh god." The spaceman added, still parrying the skeleton, another one behind it. The other decided to join in. "I'm losing a lot of life here friend."
"Look, lets... get back in the house!" Honeydew laughed "Get back in the house!" He ran back inside, shortly followed by the spaceman. "Get back in the house quick!" They both chuckled. "Quick close the door!"
"Oh god. Ok."
"Ok."
"Well that was a terribly unsuccessful foray."
"Oh god can you h... can you..."
"I'm down to four hearts." Xephos stated, this 'hearts' thing was a device created by Ridge which showed them how much health they had left. This was purely because when he made a new world, he didn't know how it would effect them, they could have been too stupid to know how hurt they were, so he made the device to help. It's the one thing they would always respawn with. Even if they didn't quite understand the whole concept of respawning. "Simon."
"Me too." Honeydew answered.
"Ummm...." They both said. There was a zombie groaning noise from outside.
"Did you just hear that?" Honeydew asked.
"Oh god... It sound like... someone saying brains. Oh god what's that noise?"
"I think it might be a zombie."
They both laughed. Honeydew made a zombie noise and Xephos laughed before turning to him.
"Ha, that's you!" He stated. "That's not the game."
"So..." He made another. "So, um... Basically, if you don't have any torches this is how you spend an evening in Minecraftia. um... the thing is- Oh god I said that phrase again, i'm terribly sorry."
Xephos made a zombie noise. They then laughed. "That's ok." Xephos answered.
"When the sun comes up... it burns, the um... the zombies and the skeletons outside."
"Oh, thank god!"
"Like vampires in sunlight. They can't... they cant take it and they'll just end up falling apart."
Xephos looked out the little windows in the door.
"I just popped a flower down on top of you, can you see that?" Honeydew laughed.
"Ah, thank you friend." Xephos answered when he looked down and saw the red rose.
"I thought we needed something to brighten the place up. Um..."
"Hmm..."
"Seen as how it's pitch black and here and there are zombies outside that want to eat our brains."
"Mmmm..."
"Umm... So yeah, the way you can tell the time simply, is by looking up at the sky, and seeing where the moon is, cuz it's much like the sun. It just moves across the sky."
"Right."
"Umm... so obviously if its directly overhead, it's right in the middle of the night. And when it slowly goes towards the horizon you know dawns gonna come soon, from the opposite part of the sky the sun will start to rise. Oh! Look, look! Look out the door."
Xephos walked to the door and looked out the little windows again.
"Look out the door."
The sun was slowly rising on the horizon as the sky turned more orange instead of black.
"Oh god..." The spaceman said.
"You see that?"
"Oh yeah."
"The bruise out the sky."
"It's beautiful."
"Duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh duh duh duh, duh, duh, duh, duh.~" Honeydew sang as Xephos slowly opened the door and walked out. "Duh duh duh duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh duh duh~"
Xephos jumped back. "Wwwahhhh!" He called as he saw a skeleton directly to the left of the door. He reclosed the door.
"Duh, duh, duh, dyahhahauuuuhhh....~" Honeydew finished, his last note dissolving into laughter.
"Right there!" Xephos stated as he walked back into his corner, the door closed again. They both laughed.
"Another thing that I didn't wanna mention is, um, you know that there are windows in the door?"
"Mmm-hmm."
"Um... The skeletons shoot arrows and the arrows can actually go through those windows." The dwarf chuckled.
"Oh fucking hell..." Xephos chuckled as well.
"So we are a little bit at risk... But look, it's getting brighter, it's getting brighter."
Xephos looked back out the windows in the door. "It is, it is."
"Soon we'll be hearing them in pain as they start to burn to death."
"Oh good."
"Their second death."
"Their second death." Xephos repeated, walking back to his corner. "Where do these monsters come from?"
"The dark, Xephos."
"What's the story? Here?"
"They come from the dark." There was a moment of silence. "See this place it's not really like Earth it's like a different planet." Earth was the world they had originated on, well Honeydew did at least, Xephos on the other hand crash landed there with no memories, Minecraftia was another world Ridge had made with the help of his reaper powers in order for them to show how they could survive. "A planet infested with zombies and skelingtons."
"Right."
"And those big green creeper things, they're also spiders, uh, as well." They both chuckled.
"Ok."
"Um..."
"Well I look forward to meeting them though."
"There are cows."
"Oh."
"Can you see that? Did you see that outside?"
"What?" Xephos walked to the door, opened it and walked out, Honeydew close behind him. "Oh, oh, oh, there's one over there..."
"Oh my gooood!" Honeydew yelled and ran back inside.
"Why isn't it on, on fire yet?! Vampires usually die at like, daybreak!" Xephos stated as he ran back inside as well. "This isn't the same."
Honeydew walked to the door again and walked out and looked around.
"He... I don't know." The dwarf answered. Xephos walked out as well. "Oh gooood! There's one, right at the back of the house!" He stated as Xephos walked over.
"Oh god there's one on fire over there."
"Round the back of the house, look." Honeydew chuckled.
"Oh god."
They both laughed.
Oh fuck!"
"Oh god there's a zombie on fire!" Xephos stated and they both began to walked away as the mobs came closer. "Oh it's just set the other one on fire, it's ok. They're on fire." An arrow hit Xephos in the arm. "Oh no! They're shooting me, they're shooting me!" He stated as he ran back inside.
"Hurrayyyy!"
Xephos sighed.
"Just avoid... Oh fuck there's one here." The dwarf came back to the door. "Oh god..."He then walked back. "I think they're sort of in the shade..."
Xephos walked out as well.
"And that's sort of why they weren't catching fire."
"Oh right..." The spaceman watched as his friend walked round the side of the house and the zombie died.
"Oh god, they're burning, they're burning Lewis."
"One of them just died I think. Here."
Honeydew walked round to the side where Xephos was and picked up the zombies remains. "Hurrayyyy!" The dwarf said.
"What do they drop? What..."
"Duh duh duh duh duh duh, duh, duh duh!~" Honeydew sang, a song from a game they both used to play back on Earth.
"Do they drop?"
"They dropped um..."
Xephos looked through his inventory and found an arrow.
"I think I got an arrow here." He stated, holding up the object.
"Got an... How do you throw? I've forgotten how you throw."
"I don't know." Xephos answered, going back round to the front of the house and round the other side. "Um...."
"Uhhh..."
Xephos spotted something and walked towards it. "There's an egg over here...."
"Drop is Q..."
"There's a chicken."
"They drop some feathers."
"Aww!" Xephos said as he hit the chicken with his arrow, on the blunt side.
"Feathers you can use to made arrows..."
Xephos continued hitting the chicken.
"They also drop arrows themselves..."
"Come 'ere!" Xephos shouted and continued attacking the chicken.
"Come 'ere yah chicken bastad!" Honeydew said in a funny voice as he watched his friend before looking around once more.
A new day. What adventure would it bring?
