Darkness, that's the first thing I remember... It was dark... and it was cold... and I was scared... But then... then I saw the moon, it was so big and it was so bright. It seemed to... chase the darkness away...
He breathed in the crisp air as he emerged from the ice and up onto his feet. Looking around, it was dark. All was dark but the moon. It glistened high up in the sky, gleaming through the dark abyss above. He continued rising up into the air.
And when it did... I wasn't scared anymore...
He slowly fell back towards the floor of ice landing on his bare feet.
Why I was there and what I was meant to do... that, I've never known. And a part of me wonders if I ever will...
He looked down at his hands, then felt his chest and looked down at his body, his bleach white hair flowing in the breeze as his bright blue eyes skimmed over everything. He looked back up to the moon. As he took a step forward, he slipped on the ice, but regained his balance and continued walking. As he looked down, to see a long branch or stick of some kind. It was long and straight with a curve at the tip. He nudged it with his foot, sending a wave of frost down it. He knelt down and picked it up, as he did, another wave of frost shot down it. He hid himself from it, but looked back again to see that still touching the ice sent swirling frost across the sheet of cold. He looked down at it and smiled. Then, he walked over to a tree and placed it against the bark, covering it in frost like magic. He put his hand to it and smiled, before turning away and pointing the strange staff up against another tree. The same happened again. He laughed to himself in shock and then bounced for a few seconds before turning and running across the ice, pulling the staff along behind him. It left a large trail of ice and frost. He laughed and jumped and spun around in circles on the ice, the staff leaving a trail behind him as he laughed. he brought it up to the side, to the forest as he chuckled, the plants and trees turned white with snow. Eventually, he spun round and got swept up into the air, laughing to himself, until he realised what had happened. "Woah, woah!" He called and flailed his arms around a bit, but then realised that he stayed up in the air. He looked down bellow at the frost filled area, the smiled as he steadied in the air. But, pretty soon he noticed that he began to sink again, and yelled out as he tumbled back towards the ground. He hit the tree branches on his way down, then landed on a big branch, cuddling it and sighing in relief. He pushed himself up and chuckled, looking at the wondrous staff he held in his grip. He stood up on the branch, hearing happy music from nearby. As he looked over the tree line ahead of him, he saw what looked like a village, warm, orange lights shining back at him.
Within a few seconds he was flying towards the village, though, granted, exclaiming in worry lest he hit any trees or fall into anything. He flew down and landed at the foot of the village, looking around at the people as he regained his balance. He fell to the right, then got back up, sighing in relief. He began to walk forward, looking around at the happy people, all chatting and smiling. He spun round and laughed to himself "Hello!" he said to a random person. Then continued to greet different people that walked by. "Good evening mam... mam?" He said a women. Then saw a little boy running towards him. "Oh, excuse me, can you tell me where I am-?" He asked and knelt down to the little boy... But... the little boy continued running, and ran straight through him. He gasped, holding his stomach where the boy ran through and standing up, panting. He turned and looked at where the boy had gone. Once again he turned as a women walked through him. "Woah!" He said, shocked. "Hello?" he asked, turning round on the spot, frantically.
My name...Is Xeph Frost. How do I know that?
He stepped back, putting a hand to his chest and then looking around slowly.
The moon told me so. Actually, that's the only thing the moon ever told me. And that was a long, long, long time ago.
