Its really used for stirring the cauldron. This is a popular buiness around shrines. It is a common practice for people to get large cauldrons of Pilaf / Rice or sweet rice cooked and distributed to the poor. Especially around holy shrines. This has become a thriving business. The Industrial Egg slicer thingy ,, allows the cook to manage a number of cauldrons while standing at the same place.
