Description
Joby has been fighting cancer for a while now, and we just let him beat it to the punch line. The vet did a house visit and he went purring in his sleep. It was so hard to say goodbye but he hadn't eaten anything for the past few days and was coughing and gulping a lot. Even though he still loved his back being scratched he was very tired and I'm glad we let him go before he started suffering. He died in the house he was born in and was left with a dumb happy expression, eyes crossed and tongue out. As graceful in death as he was in life. I love you Joby, you fat ginger bastard.scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/h…

I'm so sorry for your loss. My cat Emma died back in March 2014, simply because of old age, she was 14 or 15. She was my grandmother's cat, and I was at the vet with my mother when I saw her put down. Losing a pet is very hard to get over, especially if you've know them for a long time. I understand what you've been though, but remember that you were a part of Joby's life and I think that's very meaningful.

It's okay, the time I get to spend with my animals was totally worth it, it overcomes the pain of losing them.

Joby looked as if he were very handsome. He was lucky to be loved by someone such as you. Just look at the wonderful memorial you drew for him.

aww thank you. He was very regal and proud looking... even though he was lazy and clumsy and had a way too high pitch meow. :')

So sorry for your loss. I lost my first childhood cat a few years back, and despite it being difficult, the closure I got with her helped me get through the grief. Joby seemed like such a sweet cat.

aww I'm sorry for your loss too. and thank you. He was so soft and lazy, but so sassy and confident. He had so much personality.
With a pet from childhood it feels like you lose a part of yourself because you grew up with them. But you also feel happy that they got to share that part of yourself.

Thank you. And same here, this is our 3rd cat we have lost. It certainly doesn't get any easier no matter how old you get.
But they will always be immortalised in memories and feelings.
