Petition for streaming Cyborg 009 on American websites . This is American only because they block them from other countries. Petition for releasing Cyborg 009 on DVD . I know several of you have merchandise you import or get someway from America, where ever this DVD is released, I must ask you to do that again.===END EDIT
Well, this is part of my answer to the question of the week over at Anime News Network . The question is:
"What old series/movie are you interested in that the new crop of fans is completely uninterested in? Why do you think that is? What steps would you take to reverse it."

Well, I don't think I need to tell you what series I enjoy XD
Seriously, this show had a prime place to gain a following, the Toonami block on weekdays in the 2000's was THE PLACE for animation. But, it didn't garner enough favor to appease the rating gods and it was banished to like 4:30am. What is more disheartening is the series never ran its course in broadcast, missing the last 4 episodes, and we cannot even view it through other means like a streaming site or DVDs.
It just makes me sad.
I wish, I could petition streaming sites to run the series in full, that would be a dream, though, I am unsure how to go about doing that.

but the show always got such low ratings so it tended to disapear a lot. T_____T

God, I can understand Jet's frustration. After all, I've looked all over for the episodes for a YEAR and finally found them... with horrible subs.

I own several volumes of the manga after 10, though I cannot read them, they are in Japanese. But seeing the pictures are good enough for me. ^^
Yeah, I love how his art got better, I love the lyrical quality of the characters, but the realistic look of landscapes and cityscapes really grounds them in our world, wich I think helps tell this story.
Gosh, I wish I had someone who could translate the manga XD I would scan in pages and turn it into a scanlation if I had the translation XD

I have the english Cyborg 009 manga, except for vol 9, it always so expensive T_T
I have the omnibuses of the Cyborg 009 manga when it was released in 2009 for Year of the Cyborg. Even though I can't read it entirely, I only took one year of Japanese at my university, I can still look at the pictures. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the first 5 which some chapters I wanted to read. So I'm missing the equivalent of vol 11 -13 and missing some arcs like Green Hole and Mutant Planet, not sure which volumes those correspond to.
I still have my textbook and the one I bought in case I wanted to take second year. Perhaps I could learn enough to translate it

oh cool! I would love to have those volumes, but I have had no luck in finding it (though, I will admit, I've not ventured farther than amazon or ebay) Right now I have random volumes from 2 different print runs... which proved to be a poor idea, because they have mixed up the order in the chapters in one to not the original drawn order. I guess to kinda structure the story differently (in this run, the God's War chapters are put near the end of the books) I'm still missing a few volumes, but I have the contents of the original volumes 11 and 12, and I think 13. Alas, I have no Japanese skills, so I must infer from the pics ;w;
Well if you want the effort to translate go for it! I know a lot of fans would appreciate it. 
oh! I do have a question for you... you are helping post pieces on the mangafox pages right? I am curious, are there plans to post the next Japanese chapter?? (I'm curious because the page says chapter 48 coming soon)

Yeah, I'm TheCyborgGirl who put up the rest of the volumes. But I don't have the equivalent of vol 11-13 and the two other arcs I mentioned. Unless I can find scans of those I can't upload anything, and I need some translators. At least I can attempt to upload the raws. I can always attempt to translate the chapters, I got to see how much kanji those chapters have.
I keep hoping vol 9's price will fall to 9 bucks XD

Well, I'm not sure when I'll get the time, but since I have the volumes approximate 11-13 I must volunteer my services to take care of that! I'm afraid based on name alone I cannot recognize the arc Green Hole or Mutant Planet. Though, is Green hole the one where 005 and some of them go into one of those vertical caves that go straight down for hundreds of feet? They meet a community in there and battle ensues. I have this, it's near the end of volume 18. Right now Mutant Planet isn't ringing a bell with my visuals either.
009 for 9.00!!! Here's hoping! XD

Yeah, that's the Green Hole arc
The Mutant Planet (the other translation for the title is Strange Star) is about 006 and 009 investigating a distress call from a fishing boat. (Google translate is horrible at giving me a summary that makes sense)If the only cyborgs in that arc are 006 and 009 then that's the Mutant Planet one.

oh LOL I feel really dumb now. I just read your message at the end of your postings on MangaFox.
Okay, well you have me as a scanner of some source material. I have Monster Island, Green Hole, Song of the Lorelei, Middle East, and Mutant Planet. Is Immigration Arc the one that is contained in the original Volume 13? The story with the characters that was a forerunner to the Lina and Kane story? Also, is Bottom of the Sea originally in Volume 14? I see in my copy Joe jumping on a submarine, with some other mysterious man, and get swept below to a civilization under the water.
I can also have those pages clean for publishing as well, as I'm a seasoned user of Photoshop. Let's see how good I do with the volumes I can scan for you. Once I get that done, I can do cleanup on pages.

awesome!!! Well I got raw scans of 20 pages tonight, so I hope I can keep up scanning and processing a certain number pages a week. To keep it manageable. ^^ I also have a good chunk of the rest of the series (though I have no idea for the order, one print run I have mixes it up) so I can help scan that too... 36 volumes is a lot to scan alone o_o

Oh yes, Albert I think is a favorite of many fans, due to the tragic history and how he goes through it. He is an amazing character, inspiring, and facsinating to think about.
Jet has so much heart, and I love reading how other fans think of him through fanfiction, we have some pretty nice writers in the community, it's cool. Who doesn't love the Jimmy episode, it shows many of Jet's qualities for sure!

Yeah, 005 and 001 always get the shaft when it comes to love from the fans. There are a couple big 005 fans around, they love him! I've wrote a fanfic about 005, and hope to write another, I just need the words to come ;3;
005 is a great base for the group, I don't think they'd be the same without him!

He seems to have more understanding of humanity then the others, leading him to always trying to cope and put reason in his "enemies"! My guess is that he needs to realise who he's fighting against and see there last shard of feelings before needing to engage. After all, his usual assassins were humans, especially 3 of his old friends come back and try to kill him!

Any time im an anime nut im beyond absest and cyborg 009 was one of the first animes i fell in love with. i would love to see it back on tv but online is fine with me. i sighned both petitions and posted a buliton on my youtube. ill think of other ways to spread the word.
