Pretty beetle/scarab/whatever I found in my front yard a few months ago and I was amazed by the blue in it so I went running to get my camera.Could any of you tell me what it is? The scientific name or something? Biology is not my thing as you might have noticed.
Taken with my finepixHS10 and edited on picnik.com to crop and edit the colours a bit, I wanted the blue to stand out a bit more. (:
Critiques are appreciated, I'm kind of new to the whole photography area so I could use some advice.

well, apparently this is some kind of scarab beetle (scarabaeidae).

How big is he? He looks about the size of a ladybug, unless that's swamp grass he's chillin' on.

He's actually kind of three times the size of a ladybug. I don't remember, took the picture a while ago. Maybe 2 ladybugs and a head? Haha
