A very striking photo! It caught my eye immediately- I thought of Wizard of Oz, only follow the red road instead of the yellow brick road. Nice.

I suppose it wouldn't be if it was always like that, it would just be ordinary. But seeing it now when the world is not like that makes it so much more beautiful

I just love your IR work! It cativated me so much that I just bought a r72 filter. hehe
Now I gotta know how to use it. Do you have some tips for this begginer?
The colors you show on your photos are the original or do you post-process them?
Thank you so much for all the beautiful works you have!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IngoSchobert In reply to danielion [2010-12-17 10:24:38 +0000 UTC]

I actually use a modified camera - not an external filter.

Yes, the images are post-processed, they come out in shades of red (hence infrared) and need to be converted, most often by swapping the red and blue channels. I use photoshop for that, others use other means. Search for tutorials here on DA, and YouTube and the web in general, there is a lot of info out there,

Ingo

PS, I think you will need a tripod as it takes long to expose the shots with an external IR Filter, but I am not sure

Oh, cool... That option is neat when it comes to the shutter speed

Thanks for the advises, I've started my research, went to the groups you're on and stuff, and I've got a really more clear picture of how it works.

I'm sure to be having lots of fun and experiment as soon as I have the time.

Thank you very much. Hope one of these days to at least scratch your level of photography. hehe

You are very welcome,

And keep in mind that it takes a while to get used to this kind of shooting and to find good "targets." Given this time of year (winter) it may take until spring to get nice an juicy trees etc.
