Description
Another older piece, this one from last year. This one I got prodded into posting here.In the Tranformers fandom you hear of turbofoxes. Now as a person who tends to first fall in love with world created, and not the characters, I tend to focus on the wildlife and whathaveyou. So when I couldn't find any official images for this particular critter I created my own take on how they might look.

I love your turbofox design: sleek, elegant, and with lovely coloring. I thought the boosters (?) looked a little big for its body, but it doesn't detract from the image at all.

Very interesting design. I did my own version as well. You might want to check it out in my gallery. Your's though is definitely cool and plays up the "turbo" very well with the boosters. It would be nice if it had an alternate mode though (a wheeled mode works bets IMO), since that is a hallmark of Cybertronian physiology.

You're right about them probably benefiting from an alternate mode, when I made them that wasn't something I had kept in mind. I've gone back to the turbofoxes a couple of times since something has always felt lacking and this could be it.
*nods* I've seen your turbofox before, back when I was searching high and low for an canon image of them. And I must confess that I wasn't too terribly fond of your design because of that lesser feel of 'turbo', and looking at them they just didn't appear to be all that fast when their speed is supposed to be legendary. Course looking at it again I realize I completely missed seeing that it had a wheeled form, so I apologize for that.

I've been obsessing over the Cybertronian political and social systems, being an anthropologist by trade, but the "wildlife" is definitely a topic that needs attention.

Very much so. Since in my mind it's the world and any other life on that world that shapes a race long before any political/social systems come into play. It's kind of disappointing that they don't work with that more.

I never had a clear image of what a turbofox should look like until I saw your drawing.
It is amazing! And cute too.

With as much as I've seen them mentioned in fiction, I'm surprised to not see more art of them. I found maybe three fan pictures at the time I made this, and none really pulled it off.
Thank you!

I just love it, with the sickle-like runner feet and the BIG boosters~ Brought me back to Zoids a little when I first laid eyes on the lil'guy... god I loved that show ._.;

Hello prodder how are you tonight?
The turbofox's similarity to Zoids wasn't a conscious decision. But I'm not surprised there are similarities, it was an awesome show. I can see where I was probably influenced by it now that you've pointed it out.

hehe, nearly dead from desperately going through so much school work today...
Oh, I wasn't trying to suggest so anyway, it was just a little tickle in the back of my old fangirly brain. Had you intended this fellow to have a transforming capacity? 'cause I was also picking him apart like that, thinking about the boosters as lower legs and the such... pardon my sleep deprived brain for possibly trying to make so much more of of this then you might have ever intended

*winces in sympathy* Ouch, school is tough.
Nope, no transforming capabilities. And you're forgiven, sleep deprivation is something I know all too well of, and I get just how much it can screw with your head.
