Description
Some art I contributed to this book. All the art is done by the artists below and myself, even though our names are barely visible on the credits of the book and it's signed in big letters by the one person who didn't draw a single illustration in it.
And no, I'm not usually so bitter with my clients, but after a contract breach with no indemnization because the guy knows I don't have the money to sue him, I don't want to smile for the crowd.
The real artists on the book:
Tina Francisco (I don't know if she has a DA ;;; )
I hope I didn't get any of their DeviantArts wrong, do let me know if I did!

I'm not a fan of how Christopher Hart goes about this (taking most of the credit and such), but when I saw you did the art for part of the book I had to buy myself a copy ; - ;

IΒ like drawing cute loli girls the most, but when it comes to characters I personally like to read/watch, they'reΒ usually on the "cool" side. Though Kobato (by CLAMP) is one of my favourite females ever, and she's adorable beyond limits

i googled right then :333 hmmm what kind of manga is it, where she plays in?~

inma In reply to xdarkwingY [2016-06-23 10:36:02 +0000 UTC]
It's a heartwarming story full of feelings. Kobato's got a bottle she has to fill by healing other people's hearts, then she meets some people who become special to her. I love this manga (and Kobato's dresses and hats ), but the anime was pure fail in my opinion.

Yes, but while this is one of my favourite mangas, I absolutely hated the anime.

inma In reply to xdarkwingY [2016-06-25 21:56:33 +0000 UTC]
It doesn't carry the same feeling as the manga. While the manga was a heartful, both happy and sadΒ story with characters and interactions I loved, the anime felt very generic, like not much love was put into it. Characters felt less special/alive than in the manga, and some of them got their personality changed way too much.
I'm all for character development, beautiful romances (het, yuri or BL)Β and interesting feelings, and Kobato anime failed at following the manga in that sense. There are people who liked it though, so I guess it depends on the each person.

DUDE Christopher Hart lets people contribute to his books!?

Christopher Hart relies 100% on art by other artists... Β He used to draw his own books and his older books are good, but his anime stuff is just him hiring popular anime artists to do the work for him because he can't draw it and knows nothing about it. He's kind of a jerk, though. Honestly, I wish Inma would just release her (her?) own book without working with him.

How... Is he kind of a jerk? That's a pretty far stretch from
his personality that I've read of when he speaks personally in every book.
so uh... Okay?

Oh, I told him I was a big fan of his books growing up (which is true, before he did anime stuff) but noticed in his recent artwork, which was trying to resemble anime, that he was using a really outdated style, and I mentioned he should be wary of putting that in his books because Japanese publishers are really sensitive to outdated artwork. I know because I've worked with Japanese publishers and they make a big fuss about that stuff. Anyway, I think I was pretty nice about it, and I thought pretty highly of him at the time, but he responded by sending me a really really nasty note basically telling me to f*ck off and then he immediately blocked me. I was crushed and pretty angry. Told a friend of mine and they told me this is apparently really common, and I found out from more people that he attacks anyone who has a bad thing to say about his books or his art.Β
I mean, if you like his books or whatever, then who cares, but I had a bad experience with him and apparently so have a bunch of my professional artist friends.

Yes. He makes some books with his own art and some books which are 100% commissioned from other artists like this one (but he writes the explanations, texts, etc.).

Woooow... I never knew that. I always thought for certain books he changed up his art style to keep things fresh and have a wide option of styles for people. I've bought nearly all his books, I'll be buying this one too!

You can check who artists are if you check the credits for each book (^^)b I think it's on the first page or so.
