Deadpool was a deliberate rip off of Deathstroke, but he caught on and evolved into his own character

That was the joke, but can you call it a ripe off if it was done deliberately for comedic purposes?

Parody then....but DC Β and Marvel frequently rip each other off and get characters that stick aroundΒ

No by that logic I think I would go with 'parody'

He was more of a spoof than anything else...I mean his name is WADE WILSON, a satire of Slade Wilson...

Gotta admire someone who can take on multiple incarnations of both the Teen Titans and the Justice League and manage to come out on top O_O. Well done

Well I guess we will differ there. He was the villain then...and a great villain for the era

Understandable. But at the time he was the villain...and for all they knew a one off villain.

I feel like they're moving him more toward the comics version, with the grey hair and eyepatch. He is a little Ollie-focused compared to the international assassin of the comics, but they have to work him into the show somehow.
I do find it amusing that we're building to a showdown between two characters that were originally conceived as Batman rip-offs; Golden Age Green Arrow was "Batman, but with arrows," while Deathstroke in Teen Titans was "Batman, but evil."

Indeed. I've not read the 52 version of Deathstroke, but I assume there is more to his back story now then there was then
