Description Unlike Fanboy and Chum Chum, I did remember watching an episode of Sanjay and Craig. It's just that I didn't have a lot of memories with this cartoon.

Wow that was a short paragraph. Anyways, how long did it take me to watch Sanjay and Craig. Well, at least it's shorter than Fanboy and Chum Chum since it ALSO TOOK ME AN ENTIRE WEEK! Mainly because I had school at this point, I was also distracted watching Sanjay and Craig, usually taking some breaks just to chill from reviewing cartoons. I realized that my deadline was coming, so I hurried to July 29. Unfortunately, I didn't finish the Breadwinners and Welcome to the Wayne, therefore I was 3 days late.

Now enough of the delaying, what are my thoughts? Well, at least it's better than Fanboy and Chum Chum I mean, look at the pie chart; 2 epic episodes? Wow, I didn't even know that Sanjay and Craig was this- oh wait, there's one Notorious episode so never mind. Yeah, by looking at Season 1 and the pie chart, Sanjay and Craig is a mixed bag, even though there's more positive than negative. Sure, there are 12 blessed episodes, but then we got 3 damned episodes that are actually one of the worst I've reviewed. Like everyone's perspective, the show slowly got better thanks to the fart jokes simmering down in the 2nd season. Also, let's not forget about the later episodes of Sanjay and Craig. Y'know, the July 2016 premieres. Yeah, that was a great way to end off a lukewarm series that has one notorious and two epics.

But enough of that, I took more notes than ever. So, let's see if I got enough with the writing:

Again, another SpongeBob clone but this time, I felt like this show's trying to differ from SpongeBob SquarePants and instead, go for Cartoon Network's Regular Show. Okay, I think we're starting rough with the show. Now then, onto the writing itself. The pros this time are stronger while the cons are weaker. I think that Sanjay and Craig isn't trying to copy content from Regular Show (well aside from the stunts and gags because they try to be cool and hip and worst of all, fart jokes, which tamed down starting the 2nd season), but instead making the writing more original and unique than ever. First of all, there are a lot of relatable episodes that were executed very well with the structure, heart and entertainment that made them enjoyable, whether it would be The Giving G or Conquistador, Sanjay and Craig pulls the suspense really well. And for a few ControChoices (especially in the 1st season), the antagonists actually got karma and receives a more brutal and humiliating comeuppance than the main protagonists themselves.

However, that doesn't prove that relatability and well structured plots are all that great because as a matter of fact, this show's gross. Well, in the 1st season to be specific. Because that Sanjay and Craig tries hard to be cool and hip with the young audience, the fart jokes are more of a problem than Fanboy's issue with fart jokes. The episodes centered towards disgusting content are possibly some of the most gross episodes I've seen due to out of place content and overall ridiculous writing. That also explains the gross ups that appear in shots, but I'll explain more about that in the quality section. Heck, even their endings are really disgusting as well. Plus, there are some episodes that are rather cliche-driven and in the last season, that was where the cartoon was at its blandest. But even with those nasty cons, the writing is still ample with the more interesting and cleverly written stories.

Almost as the same levels as Regular Show's writing. Hmm, I wonder which one's better. But for the quality, regular beats nasty.

For some reason, the animation style is similar to Bob's Burgers. But even though the quality rips off an adult cartoon's animation, it's still like the writing where it's just ample. Not that good, but still good. Yeah, it's like other cartoons from Sanjay and Craig's time where the pupils are too small and oh yeah, the animators decided to make the pupils bigger in one scene just for the sake of comedy. Even with that, the character designs are good as they are, but it appears that some characters (like Darlene and Megan) incorporate the shape of Sanjay's head where it shapes like a nood with the forehead appearing as a little too big. Not much variety with the character designs, but hey, at least most of them are different. Unlike Fanboy and Chum Chum where the textures are cheap and obviously fake, Sanjay and Craig actually uses textures and shadow to give characters more depth and those textures are pretty good. With Regular Show animating their supernatural scenes creatively, Sanjay and Craig follows that too. Now how about the out of place gross ups and flashing? Yep, they're unnecessary and meant to make everyone disgusted easily. Hey, at least there aren't that much in the 3rd season. How about the flashing? Same thing. Nobody asked for it and I guess they used it for coolness, but that will most likely get parents of kids with epilepsy to sue Nickelodeon for using flashing in a cartoon. The CGi is ugly like other cartoons from its time, but at least the animators tried. I can also say that the animation's also vibrant (not too vibrant where everything's white) and pulls creative use on colors. The animators did a great job with the animation, but what pulled it from greatness is some effective cons that are deadly to the show's fate.

If you're a kid with epilepsy, I'd recommend you to not watch Sanjay and Craig because there's flashing in several episodes. Anyways, the characters are next:

The characters are also decent as well. I mean, their attitudes and voices can be distracting or annoying, but yeah, no problemo with the characters since they're given character development and some depth to make them interesting. What gets to me to most about the characters is like what I said before, the voice acting makes me a little annoyed because it either sounds like other characters from other shows or it just gets to me. In the last season, we get to learn more interesting facts about these characters and why are they in that state? Example questions I have from them are why is he/she in the same dress? WHAT IS THEIR SECRET TO BE EXACT? But yeah, I can't think of anything special about them, since they aren't that interesting to begin with, but they're just solid characters with solid depth.

I put the blame on Season 1 for pushing Sanjay and Craig to alright (67%). While there is out of place content and does feel unoriginal and carries some generic content, there isn't that much wrong with Sanjay and Craig. In fact, I can say that the stories are engaging, the animation's good as it is, and solid characters. This cartoon's mostly solid, but with cons strong enough, it's decent. I really enjoyed watching a lot of episodes though, but with some episodes being bland, I guess I can't stand a chance with this show. Now I have one question to come in mind; How the hell did Craig talk?

So.... Did Fart Baby went up by much in the notorious scale to be better than the worst Catdog/Foster's #1 notorious or is it around their level of awful?

"Fart Baby" is now the 14th worst episode I've reviewed, so it's absolutely likely that it's better than the worst episodes of CatDog and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

I noticed you promoted Fart Baby, hm maybe I can see why, despite it being really really terrible I did like the part when they were talking to the neighbor on the phone

Season 1 f*cked the coming of what was Season 2 and Season 3. You agree, I agree.  Also, Fart Baby. Heh, heh, heh, heh. Which is worse: Study Muffin or Fart Baby?

Edit: The character designer of Bob's Burgers worked on this show.
