Description
"Gogogogogogo!" Volt waved his arms frantically, running towards Roz as he turned a corner. A large creature charged behind him, running into walls and leaving dents. Well, he certainly didn't need to be told twice.
"What did you do!?" The shorter asked, barely keeping up with his long-legged friend.
"I was supposed to t-test a new tranquilizer formula on it, b-but it woke up!" Volt gasped, out of breath from running all the way from the labs. "I-I'm sorry!"
They quickly darted into an unused room and shut the door, pushing whatever they could in front of it. Loud snarls and growls sounded on the other side, as the thin metal was easily dented and scratched at. The taller of the two flopped onto the ground, breathing heavy. Roz, meanwhile, looked confused.
"But..I thought..you used tranquilizer on it..?"
"It sort of...did the opposite of what it was supposed to do.." Volt looked a little upset. "I told them it wasn't going to work!"
Roz sighed. "Well..do you have any that you made?" Volt was good with tranquilizers. He was kinda picky about what he put in them, but they almost always worked.
"Yea...but it doesn't work. That's why the other chemists came up with a new formula." His yellow-eyed friend groaned, jumping when the creature slammed into the door. "...That won't hold for long.."
He was right. The door was dented badly now, large rips in the metal from the claws of the beast. They were going to have to deal with...whatever that thing was, and soon. And here they were, without a plan.
"So...would you lose your job if it was killed?" It seemed like the only option now, since putting it to sleep had failed. Well, getting eaten was an option too.
"I'm ranked higher than most of them, they wouldn't have the power." Volt explained, sitting up. "And for the ones that do, I'd rather have them fire me, then get e-eaten."
Well, that settled it then. "Will you distract it for me?"
"I..guess? But if it eats me I'm blaming you."
"Fair enough."
Roz pulled out his gun. "Ready?"
Volt sighed and bit his lip, but stood up and nodded. "A-as I'll ever be."
"Okay then, here's the plan: You'll go out that door," He pointed to the door across the room, "And get it's attention. Then I'll move all this and sneak out this door behind it and attack. When it turns to get me, you attack. Good?"
"G-got it."
The smaller nodded and took a deep breath. "Let's do this."
Volt hurried to the other side of the room, slipping quietly out the door. The beast didn't notice him, and continued to attack the barricaded door. He could hear Roz slowly moving everything away from it through the still open door at his end. It was now or never.
"H-hey! Come and get me!" He waved his arms around, picking up fallen pieces of wall and throwing them at it. "Over here!"
It stopped, turned it's head, and looked almost curiously at Volt for a moment. Then it was snarling and growling, stalking towards the tall Irken slowly. Volt backed away from the it, eyes not leaving the creatures; not even when Roz sneaked out behind it and waved a little to him. He then started to shoot at the back of the beast, earning a loud shrieking sound from it as it turned, barreling towards Roz instead.
Volt pulled his own small pistol out of his PAK and started shooting, just as it reached his friend and clawed at him. It barely hit Roz' shoulder as he rolled out of the way, causing a small scratch. This fight carried on for a while, both of them narrowly dodging what would have been fatal blows until a fellow worker who had seen the beast chasing Volt had the sense to call for help.

They both sat outside on the curb, watching as the creature was restrained and removed. Both were now covered in bandages, as well as sporting some lovely bruises.
In unison, they flopped backwards. "We need a vacation."
