no thats not shading, that is the result of a granade to the face, as smeets, meez and sid were attaked in an irken space colony ther parents were both killed in the attack, an active granade landed rite in the middel of them and blew thier oppiste arms off, Sid lost his left arm but his shoulder was left intact, Meez lost his whole right arm, sufferd 3rd degree burns, and took shrapnol to the face hence the stitches. amazingly, Meez can still see out of his right eye, but needs medication regularly.
