I gotta say, I wasn't expecting my Gem version of the Powerpuff Girls to get so popular. That was just the catalyst for something of greater scale, and a little bit of a story.

Back in the summer, my family and I drove up to the top of a hill to look at the stars. We were hoping to catch a glimpse of a comet that only comes after a thousand years or so. Only, there was too much light pollution, and though we can see the stars and the moon, we couldn't find that comet. I wanted to find some way to adapt that night into artwork, and I thought including three of my favorite Cartoon Network shows would be perfect.

I'm just sorry it took me so long to make this, guys. I went through a lot of stress this week, and I'm starting to feel the effects. I was even worried I wasn't gonna complete this before the end of the month. Thank goodness I finally had a moment when I took my chance and drove it into the barn!

Now for the methods I used for this baby. Steven was the first character I drew, and it was originally gonna be about him, but after remembering how much I love the Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time, I decided to dedicate it to my favorite Cartoon Network shows. Those constellations were some that I saw when we were stargazing, and just like what I did for Music Month, I adapted objects and characters into those as well.

Here's a list of the constellations and who or what I adapted them to:
-Steven's Shield- Scutum
-Lapis Lazuli- Cygnus (the swan)
-Mojo Jojo's helmet- Corona Borealis
-Gunter- Lyra
-Marceline's Bass- Lacerta
-Tiny Floating Whale- Cetus
-Huntress Wizard- Sagitaruis
-Bullet- Leo Minor

I tried to add another constellation, but it would cramp up the sky, so I added a couple of planets and a comet for extra touch. Also if you're curious about Steven's expression contrasting everyone else's, in Steven Universe Future, he began to suffer from depression and anxiety, and struggled with moving forward. I can definitely relate to Steven on so many levels, because I kind of feel trapped in this circumstance of wanting to start my life and be my own master, but the pandemic is limiting what I can do. I honestly can't wait for the vaccine to finally be released to the public.

I just wish I did the sky a bit better, but I hope you guys like this. (Also, I miss the old days of Cartoon Network... at least Adventure Time is back)
