Personality Description:
On the outside, Ianthe is the typical royal caeli. She is an upstanding member of the Star Nest, raised to be polite, with a delicate, elegant presence about her. To those who don't know her, they might consider her vapid; a beautiful maiden only interested in crafting fine jewellery and sitting around looking pretty.
She is good at being liked; a certain charm about her that makes her approachable and easy to talk to, though her conversations with strangers often don't go past reminiscing about the weather.

However, her true personality is considerably less dainty. Ianthe is well trained in the art of pretending she doesn't have particularly strong feelings about anything, but with caelis she knows well (such as her parents) she isn't quiet about her opinions. She can be extremely sharp tongued and argumentative, often determined on having the last word. She also is in the habit of holding grudges, and has lost some close friends because she simply refuses to make up with them.
Ianthe has a very strong will about her, and isn't one to easily give up. When she knows what she wants, she is absolutely determined to get it.

Out of habit, Ianthe has considerably more trouble with befriending royal caelis. She is under the impression that they are all as shallow as she pretends to be.

Just because Ianthe's true demeanour isn't as friendly and agreeable, it doesn't mean there aren't good things about it. She is very thoughtful and observant. She gives sage advice, and is happy to keep the company of those who need it. She can be very gentle if the situation requires it, and has provided an ear to friends in need. Ianthe is very, very good at keeping secrets.

Ianthe tends to be quite secretive and inward about herself. Because of who she grew up around, she is is cautious of letting others know personal details, in fear they may use it as ammunition against her. It is extremely difficult for her to open up about herself.

The two didn't meet under the most favourable circumstances. Ianthe became acquainted with Chester when she caught him doing his unsavoury business. Unlike other caelis she had caught doing much the same thing, Chester was very compliant with her, going without so much as a nasty name thrown her way. This didn't make her like him, but it certainly earned a small amount of her respect.

Ianthe met Niuquidd through her training as a courtier. During her training, the two weren't at all close, in fact barely on a speaking basis. To Ianthe, Niu was just like any other royal caeli she had met. However when she left her training as a courtier to become a guard, she became more acquainted with Niu, learning more about him. She likes that like herself, Niu has more than one facet to his personality. She is able to have intellectual conversations with him, too, which is something she often misses out on.

Ianthe first met Alun when she broke her right horn. He was there to help her at one of her weakest, most vulnerable moments, and she hasn't forgotten that. Her visits to his healing quarters increased as she entered training to become a guard, and their friendship has grown. She now sees him as a valuable friend, and she enjoys their conversations every time she has to visit. She even visits when she isn't injured, just to keep him company.

Great Aunt- Zalik

The Queen of Star Nest just so happens to be Ianthe's great aunt. Both are aware of this, but Ianthe does not have a close relationship with the queen, and treats her the way any other caeli would treat the queen.

-Ianthe's last name derives from Clematis, the purple clematis is the flower part of Ianthe's colours were designed off of. The jewel flowers on her head are based off of them.
