Since my son and daughter left the house to live on their own, I've got my own 'library' in my daughters former bedroom!!! Just like your library. I'm very proud of it!!!
Last week I bought a very comfortable chair to be able to read books in my 'library'!!! I've got art-books, literature, history, poems, psychology, countries, people all over the world etc. books. And one cupbourd for my books about Indonesia, the country I was born.

a few years ago i had an idea for 'portraits'... i wanted to shoot/feature that books that people owned as a way of saying something about who they were...

this is definitely in the vein...

I'm not at all surprised to read that this is your library, and it's a real beauty - so warm and cheerful. I've always wanted a library that was big enough to warrant having a ladder.

Oh so do I !!! I love old, used book stores ...ones that have been in business for a very long time. I love the smell of old musty, dusty books. ...and getting lost in a maze of ceiling high bookshelves full of old books.

I love books too, photos of books are always interesting...don't know why. In this case the warmth and color are how I feel about libraries.. they are protective and protected havens.
