Description This is to keep you waiting... I totally underestimated this lol. I could've posted all I've done so far (all that's left to do is the hair), but I wanted to keep the face as a surprise. So far, over 30 hours... But it's sooo worth it. ^^ I love Reita! Did I already say it? Whatever I'll say it again. 愛してる!! lol Oh one question, about the nose strap (that last word sounds kinky... >.> I did not just say that, eh? xD). Is it ok that way, or should I add a little "noise" to give it texture? I want it to look perfect cause I worked on it for, like, 10 hours or something... >_< But I'm very satisfied with that painting so far. Anyway, tell me what you think! ^^

Tools used (poor me lol): hand (mine obviously), mouse and PaintShop Pro 9

God, this is perfect so far! o.o And you used a mouse! You're amazing. To see if you want noise on the nose strap, I'd just duplicate that layer (if you're using layers?), put noise on it, and click it visible to invisible over and over to compare. >.> *obvious and patronising* My math teacher said smarter people overlook the easy and obvious answers. XD
This is just beautiful, love. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished version.

Thank you so much! *nudges person next to her* Hey, you read that? The master of digital painting told me I'm amazing, and that it's beautiful! It's funny, everyone is stunned when I say I use a mouse... *whispers* It's cause I have no budget for a tablet, and my little mouse and mousepad have served me for over 4 years, so they're tamed now. lol! Hehe, yeah I didn't even think about doing the layer thing... I did end up adding a little noise, it adds a little texture and feels less flat. And you should see the final painting tomorrow! Weee! ^^

thats really all i got....

i tried this stlye, with jolie but its soooo hard, i zoomed in to see what kinda colours where in her eye and (me thinking it would be maby 2 or 3 colours) it was fecking 8 or 9+, every other pixel was a diffrent colour. let me in on a secret, how on earth do you go about colouring this? ofcourse u dont need to tell the world , DA notes where invented for secrets.

please say u didnt colour pixel by pixel with an unhealthy amount of tear dropping

Take care,

LAE

Hehe thanks! *blushes* lol Nah I'll be nice to everyone and say it here. No jealousy please! xD Well, if you look through my favs you'll find all the tutorials I read, scattered a bit everywhere lol. Maybe after you take a look at a few it'll give you a place to start. ^^ But as I don't remember if they say how to get the acurate colors, here. Zoom in 300-400%. Then work in "sections". Like for Angie's eye you're working on, look at their striations on the original pic and study them. Then use the dropper tool to choose the color that represents the most that striation, and then use the paintbrush to paint it on your other file with the sketch. Work like that, don't worry if it looks ugly at first. Blend a bit with the smudge tool, and another hint: zoom back to 100% or less to see if it looks like the original picture. I really have no idea what else I could say, when I work it just "happens" lol.

If you can't understand what I wrote, which wouldn't surprise me as I find myself quite incoherent today, just tell me and I'll try to do a mini tutorial for you. ^^
