Really, Your an inspiration , Im using indesign and I didnt know that it was capable of detail that fine. I will have 2 work harder XD. Hopefully within a year or 2 I will b able 2 produce work of your standard, so u use indesign for the backgrounds, or do u put it into photoshop, thats the one area where I lack drasticall - background design.

No, i mean... i only use indesign for my thesis; indesign isn't programmed for draw complex vectors...
To draw complex vectors like mine i used only illustrator that have all the tools for that... Essentially the pen tool, but if you like to make more complex ones you have to use the mesh tool or understand the technique called vexel... and i recommend you illustrator instead of photoshop, because photoshop not have the nice tool of change of colors, with that tool you can change your art in less of 5 minutes...
some tut's ---> [link] (this one is the one that i use in the beginning, because it's simple and non complex)

Thanks very much 4 the tut's, I had a quick scan and they dont look to complex. Although unfortunetly I dont have illustrator at home, but I am working on getting it , hopefully I will b able to work on a new project within the next week or so. Your help is greatly appreciated XD, do you have any tips 4 using Illustrator?

well theres a few tips about working illustrator (more if were working with photoshop).
1. Illustrator looks like photoshop... but it's really different how you work in illustrator...
2. The basic tool for vector is the pen tool...
3. The use of the layers is very important, mostly is fundamental... (ex. if you like to make a nice eye, you have to make first one layer for the down eye contour, then lock it, then make another one for the up eye contour and lock it, and... more layers and single traces for only the contour)
4. Even if you like to make a nice effect you have to use more than three layers as minimum...
5. know how to use some of the tools, like the blending tool or the mesh tool... sometimes are useful, but even for me are difficult tools to understand...
6. found some nice brushes for the pen tool...
7. practice
If you need a reference, only tell me and i can send you a example...

Yes, I have just got illustrator , I'v been messing around with some of the tools and can u use the mesh tool, it does seem very complex... o.O. Do u sketch and scan and then go over ur scans, or start streight on the computer. I have had difficulty with poses, my art seems rather lifeless
, although the piece Im working on atm is probably my best. I surprised myself with it. Hopefully I will b uploading it soon.

no, i'm bad making sketch's... but my friend makes me the sketches and i only vector them...
and sometimes i use the mesh tool...for some painting effects (specially).
Then i have to wait to see it... XD
