i heard it was just suppossed to be a joke between them. The actor who plays Dr. Cox and Hugh Jackman are actually really good friends, and the actor who plays Dr. Cox auditioned as Wolverine, but then Hugh Jackman got the part instead. It's just supposed to be a joke. XD

I heard that John C. McGinley was talking about it in one of the commentary shorts on one of the DVD's that it's his personal thing he put into Cox, and it's not really a hate or dislike, it's more of a jealousy and envy because he is such a great actor who can sing and dance. I also heard that he tried out for the part of Wolverine, but Hugh Jackman got it instead. =O
