That wouldn't happen to be the island from the opening scene from The Shinning movie would it?
Excellent work btw.

Now this is a color I can relate to! This is the very same feel you can get a lot of places here in utah. We do have some beautiful mountains, I'm just not a photographer so I can't share them the way you do! And I haven't gone on a single hike this year...that's gotta be some form of blasphemy...
Anywho, as I was saying. This color scheme is different. I'm having a bit of difficulty finding a word to describe it....its a different kind of theme than the "paradise" theme you were getting for the first few shots I'd seen of yours, and definitely a whole different spectrum from the "cool" and "desolate" themes you've captured more recently (which is funny considering they were in the same place. Interesting how temperature can affect a scene so drastically, huh?) All I know is that out looks like a scene I'd like to walk out to in sweats with a book and a cup of hot chocolate, tea, or coffee. There. Its got a "warm" and "fresh" theme about it. that sounds about right...
I think my favorite part of the picture is the small steam of sunlight that tells of either the beginning or end of the day, I can't say for sure which. It lights up the picture, bringing out the warmth in the slightly pink clouds and seemingly glowing snow. It also makes the trees have a more vibrant hue than the dark, deeper green they had in the pictures prior to this one, which is definitely a more fitting tone for the overall palette.
All i don't like is the small bank of snow. Ite doesn't seem to blend with the rest very well, but theres little you could do about it other than cropping it out, and that may have been even worse to do so...

Despite the majestic mountains in the background and the tranquil icy waters, you are visually drawn to the small group of pines on a small island. This is beautifully done by the location of color in the picture: the bottom portion is the melting, slightly dirty snow then a small strip of rocks which quickly gives way to the blue depths of the water, this is then contrasted with the crisp green of the island pines that stands against the darker green of the pines further away. At this point the photo repeats a similar coloring as the bottom portion with the rocky mountain tops against the expansive blue sky and “dirty” white fluffy clouds.
The island of trees feels lonely and isolated despite being so close to a vast expanse of other pines. You feel akin to the island pines, alone in this landscape.
Truly breathtaking!

Wonderful choice for the actual location of the picture. The lighting was the perfect setting. And I must say, good choice in equipment. This photo is so beautiful, a picturesque setting. Couldn't have been done any better. This picture was breath-taking. Absolutely stunning. Amazing job capturing this scene.
