Namesake: As his father Ripple told him, Orchid's mother named him after her favourite flower, the Tiger Orchid. She believed that this name would give him strength, but he has always seen it as an embarrassment to be named after a flower, and is very prickly whenever someone uses his full name. However, since he never really met his mother, Orchid never changed his name as his own quiet memorial of the time he never spent with her.

Bending: Waterbender
Skill: Unfortunately, (and suspected due to a slight Fireclan blood), Orchid has never been able to perfectly master manipulating water into ice, and can only use ice-moves for limited amounts of time or for short intervals (such as blocking).

-Multiple Water Whip:
Probably Orchid's favourite attack. This attach enables him to face multiple enemies at once and allows for ranged attacks; his favorite type of attack. Usually Orchid will start off an attack with this move in order to stall and keep his enemy at a far enough distance so that he can gauge the best means of attack and his opponents weaknesses.
-Water Dome
A common defense mechanism when near large bodies of water or during a rainstorm. Orchid prefers to concentrate the water around his body in a large dome as if to defend before lashing out with either a water whip or water pinwheel.
-Water boxing
A close-ranged attack when Orchid needs to go head to head with an enemy. Usually coats his left paw only and keeps his right paw open for claw attacks.
-Ice Block
This ice move doesn't require too much of Orchid if only created for a few seconds- plenty of time for the block to do its job, just depends on excellent timing by Orchid- not always his favourite thing to resort to.

A more powerful move that Orchid likes to save for when he actually needs it. Orchid prefers to use clean, quick moves that minimize the amount of damage done to an opponent: He believes defeating another cat doesn't mean one must brutally harm another, there are ways to win with wit rather than pure brawn.
-Ice floor
While Orchid loves to use that move (what better way to beat an enemy than to trap him completely?) it takes up a lot of his energy and for it to work well, must be used only when especially needed.
-Razor Rings
Another powerful move that is usually saved as a last resort, as Orchid feels in a large battle these could become clumsy and more harmful than helpful.

Most of his concentration is spent honing his skills and practicing his ice moves. Orchid takes pride in his bending that he CAN do almost more than he does his intelligence.

With the lacking in ability with ice, Orchid was forced to admit he could not to rely completely on his bending. While he would never admit to it, he continues to train in strength as well as ability. It makes for a good surprise tactic: not many people would expect a bender to come at them with a fist first and bending after. He has found that this small advantage has sometimes saved his hide in tight situations.

While he may be strong and decent at waterbending, his size does have limitations. Orchid is not the most speedy cat in the Clan, but tries to make up for this with his long ranged attacks with the water whip.

Since he secretly trains in strength, his endurance is pretty decent as well.

Above all Orchid prides himself as a military tactician. He loves to devise new ways of outsmarting the enemy almost to the point where he finds it a game. His goal is always to find the best way to win with the least amount of causalities to both sides. While this may seem like a sign of sympathy on his part, Orchid really only cares about the challenge that this mindset gives him when planning military strategies. It just so happens that this rule to his game tends to help out both sides.

Orchid is a terrible hunter, for his paws are too clumsy to keep quiet when stalking prey. He tries his best to provide for the Clan but it's an ongoing joke that he couldn't catch a vole even if it walked into his jaws. Fortunately, Orchid is able to provide at least by catching whatever fish he can, since that mostly involves sitting still and waiting, something he DOES happen to be good at.

During military campaigns or while helping to run the clan, Orchid is a very formidable leader. He knows just what to say when it has to do with organisation- however, when it comes down to more personal relationships (such as mentoring or training sessions) Orchid is a little more clumsy and unsure of himself- its much different to talk to a crowd then to talk to an individual face to face. However, he means well when he does undergo these personal interactions.
Medical knowledge: ●○○○○
Orchid has absolutely no knowledge of anything medical, and once got horribly sick from eating a stray mushroom because he believed it was a herb as a kit. However much he hates to admit it, Orchid has a complete lack of any medical knowledge and thus likes to follow the poor healer around and poke questions- (much to her distaste). He's learned of her temper, however, to such questioning and has laid off trying to learn much more about healing.

While Orchid's father Ripple never really helped his son connect spiritually to the culture of the Water Clan, he still feels there's something more to the lives of the creatures of the sea and believe in the spiritual guides of the warriors. However, he's still pretty naiive to the full extent of the spiritual culture- but he instead keeps quiet about it, respecting his lack of knowledge and hoping to learn more from watching and talking wiht his Chief in time.

However, he does try to soften the blow with his honesty when he DOES know he's being blunt with a bit of humour.

He gets very defensive of himself or his Chief, but only lets his mouth loose, he does not let it get to a fight.
