Description Here's my latest original design scratchbuilt/kitbashed model- a monster 40 inch spaceship. Thousands of hand-cut small rectangles make up most of the hull detail, with spare model parts from kits making up other detail.

This first shot is looking at the model from the side sitting on my messy model table (connected to my computer tables, connected to my music recording table).

Here's all the shots of this model:

Very awesome. It's a really cool design. Very original. I see this was posted a long time ago...is it finished? I'd like to see photos of the completed model.

omg that is insane model making! it takes me about an hour to do a simple environment for a shitty assignment... how long did this take you? GEEZ. and what materials do you use? man that must be fun to play with.

Thanks! It has taken me months so far (not done yet-got sidetracked by other projects such as my scratchbuilding/kitbashing tutorial-trying to get part 2 together...).

Appreciate the comment!

Love that spoon series. I actually teach at a top 5 photography/design/multimedia school (but I teach design and multimedia, not photography), and I RARELY see work that good on the walls there.

wow you teach? well well. thank you again for the nice comments. maybe ill study wherever you teach, one day if i go on exchange i do design right now actually, but im in sydney and still in first year.

its amazing that you can spend months on something... but its paying off pretty damn well. the amount of detail on that... do you sometimes just spend long minutes/hours looking at this? just contemplating and being really happy with what you've made. i love that feeling of just looking at what you've made and being happy about it.

Yeah, I do sometimes sit and look at stuff and think "I made that" and feel good about it, but then usually find something wrong that I feel I have to fix, LOL.

I have lots of artist friends who "say" they hate everything they make, but I'm definitely not of that school of thought- I actually ocassionally like some stuff that I create-I think it's part of what motivates me. Don't think I'd be doing this if I hated everything that I came up with.

yeah, that's good. me too. I do actually like the stuff I make. Some of it anyway.

And! I can so relate to your staring-then-finding-faults situation! lol. I guess it's good in some cases, but then not so good when you're working with something irritatingly unfixable like watercolours.
