great composition, i love how the spiraling on the left draws your eye into the piece. and great use of colour too.

Again, thanks. You're the only one to mention the spiraling thing. Didn't think anyone noticed that.
I do that a lot in my composite portrait photography as well ([link] ) mostly in the way I use scale and the model's eyes and arms to cause the viewer's eye to move around the page.

i'm not sure i get into abstract either... but there's enough going on there to look for and relate to... it invites you to look at and rewards you with colors and familiar shapes to find... a lot of what i'm told is "abstract" just doesn't do that... for me anyways.
