The life of the piano and the pianist. Its a lovely sound that ranges from gloomy to comforting. Her hands are aged just as I would think a pianist with passion would.

Her ring adds a nice element and the dark is mysterious...the dominant hand has so much texture and shape I suppose had her right thumb been up or over just a hair it would have brought a little more flow for the eye, but that could hardy take away from a great shot and nice moment as it happened in my eyes. I actually quite like that it's not both hands, but just a peek of the other...well done! I love the piano....wonderous instrument.

Another professional, well worded critique, and it's appreciated! I never even thought about the thumb being up to better the flow-good suggestion. And you're right about the ring being a nice touch-it breaks up all the texture in her hand and keeps it from being monotonous (never could spell that). Thank you!!!

Maybe I'd have made a larger shot, like taking the two hands. I find the piano too much dark compared to the hand.
Anyway, your pianist has beautiful hands.

Thanks for the comment, and very good points.
I wanted to downplay the distant hand and keys to focus on the close hand and keys, but maybe went too far. Her body was blocking the light somewhat, and this actually is a pretty candid shot since she was actually playing and I moved in behind her to grab the shot, using existing sunlight through the window near her.
Again, thanks!
