This is good, there is a lot that can be done with this. I like the clean lines, yet there is some texture to the surface. The fore and back grounds are well deliniated by lightness/darkness.

Best of all, this reminded me that there is a slinky less than two feet from my right hand here on my desk that I had forgotten all about (mine is orange and pink though and made of plastic). I'll try not to be some oblivious of whats around me in the future.

If you like abstracts, do check out my gallery. I am new here.

be well,

fool

This struck me as amazing picture the moment I saw it - can't explain why, it's just the pattern and the contrast, as said above. The way the lines behind cross the ones in the front.
And it's a slinky!

this photo has some elements that I really like: the inflected lines in the foreground seem to form a nice fan [?, not sure about the word] that arouse from the same point. This makes the distribution of bright- and darkness the way it is. So, the bottom right corner is the darkest (and the focused point), while the opposite corner is the brighest. Maybe this contrast could even be increased. The blurred distant lines make a great counter-movement.
Therefore this is a quite intruiging and very nice work.

Thanks, crimbil for the very professional critique. I like the idea of trying more contrast in the image.

Thanks, Danielle. Your comments are TRULY appreciated.

I just bought a new camera (Canono EOS D20), and am still learning it, but as soon as I get some of the features down, I'll be taking a lot of macros and portraits (my other favorite thing to shoot).

Oh cool. I look forward to seeing your photos. I love portraits too...candids, or unexpected at least, are my fav to shoot.

Would it be okay if I add your site?
