That's really creative. The imagery is well executed as well. Good color choices. Nice work.

This one strikes people differently-some of my friends hate it (colors too contrasty, vague meaning, etc.), but I tend to enjoy it (yes, it's okay to like your own work). Glad you enjoyed it as well.

for me, i tried to stray away from finding the meaning of this one, i love the balance/placement/colors and i love how you can see two completely different views of one looking down a well, its so compelling... and the way the well sort of just falls into place with the breaking up of blocks.... it's so innovative

Very cool image, though I may be biased since red and black are my favorite colors..

Regardless, though,.. this is an intriguing image, albeit somewhat morbid in its presentation. You have captured the dream-like quality well.. the bricks strike me as very interesting/appealling imagery, they are well done (as is the rest of the image, but they strike me the most)

The varying perspectives also mesh together well, so good job on that, I think some people tend to seperate the two instances of a piece such as this a bit too often, creating a detachment from the overall piece.. but here you succeed. Interesting,

like the animation on "the animation show" about an old japanese folk story of the man that ate the chairy pits and a tree started growing so he pulled it out and went to look at it in a pond but the pond was the water in the hole in his head so he flew over it over and over until he died. the clock tower in the background is my favorite part because its not completely built or destroyed.

Wow. The well up in the sky is great, I like the surreal idea and the way parts of the wall go bit further alone. The decadent skyline of the city also gets to me. The well in the sky looks very much like moon.
A gate between worlds. Great picture.

Actually it sort of is inspirational. Basically, these are the creatures I imagined in the well, and their world has gone to hell, and they see me looking down at them in the sky (the silhouetted figure). Their religious leader is looking down in her well to try to get divine insight into what is looking down at them, and of course, the two are mirrored universes (note the light behind her head which would cast a silhouette to the creatures down in her well). Of course they just HAVE to build a tower to try to reach the silhouetted figure in the sky, and, and...

Thanks! This actually stems from some real nightmares I had as a kid-my grandfather had a well, which was of course so deep that I couldn't see the bottom, plus he was always warning me "Don't fall into the well-you'll die!" so it became an object of fear.

yeah its funny how childhood events that in real life wouldnt seem so scary can be warped into such horrible dreams.

Awsome again, how long have you using The Acrylics?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ivanjs In reply to daGetHighKnight [2005-03-16 16:33:25 +0000 UTC]

Been using acrylics for many years (since I started painting, really, since I never really got into oils).

I love acrylic's drying time and vibrancy, and while not as easy to blend as oils, my technique doesn't require a lot of blending, really.
