Description Π‘ontinue working on my entry for the competition.

Looks like I finished modelling all hard surface details. The next step is posing the character and making the armor more realistic with zBrush.

Sweet job so far! looking forward to the zbrush work, i've been dabbling in mudbox myself. Understood this isn't a final render but it looks like you have three lights making really hard shadows on the model, specifically noticable on the base. Also, wasn't sure if you were going to pose the model, but the axe seems to be floating if you just keep it static like this. Maybe bury it into the base like he slammed it in there? could be a nice touch.

I'm using 3ds max for hard surfaces and base meshes, and zBrush for sculpting. )

wow...it must take a long time to learn that stuff...I don't have the patience to make things that nice, but I sure am glad there are people like you who do have the patience to make all these beautiful models. I wish I did though, how many hours does it take you to create things like this ?? I hope I'm not bothering you with these questions, I am just in awe of your talent and would like to learn but not sure I can.

It takes 10-12 days to produce a character with this detalisation.

I really like the overall design's shapes. Everything is clear and not blobbed out. just curious, but do you model separate pieces and attach them to one model or just work on the whole thing altogether?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ivilai In reply to IrvingBrew [2010-07-12 13:52:08 +0000 UTC]

most pieces are separate. I think the program will crash, if I try to smooth all parts at once.

your hellboy looks really great for the half of the year character artist. I think you can improve folds on the pants. And the second arm, it looks short for me. But in common looks good.
