It's really a nice shot, the bird expression is totally catch on it.
The lightning effect is good on it too. A little rezize of the background will make it more center on the little bird :]
This is really cute, the title really fit this photo, looks like you're teaching him how to fly !
He looks a little afraid but also in confort on your hand, that's a really cute thing !
Maybe if you want to make it more special, you can use some photo filter thanks to photoshop or other logicial :3
