Description
For those who are interested in the progress1. sketch, started pretty random with one character and reaper in the bg ~bla
2. decided the composition of the characters, using golden ratio lines > I will also roughly use these values later
3. masked the characters into different layers (each color is on a separate layer), added a blue base color
4. working out the characters in detail
5.-6. experimenting with effects, and working out the background, adding details, monsters and rubble
7. Finish

Wow, I've never seen anyone actually use the golden ratio to plan a composition!Β I'm still struggling to grasp/apply the concept myself, so this is helpful to see it in action!

Thanks for writing down what the steps are in fact! I would have a question - I'm sure you have plenty of them - but i'm searching for a bit now how to separate my character's different parts into layers... You would be an angel to help me out! thanks
( And sorry for the language, not mine actually xD)

hey no problem, I'm glad if I can help Do you mean the process of how to separate them into layers?
I usually zoom in and paint the element (e.g. her crown) with a 100% hard round brush on a layer and then lock the transparent pixels. You can also use the pen- or lasso tool to make the selection

the tangents divides the image by golden ratio,
I usually don't use this but as there were many elements I was interested if I could align them better in the composition

Did you use the fibonachi spiral for the composition? I've never seen that used like this before. How do you apply it?

Nothing too fancy xD it was less about the spiral, I was interested how the characters align in the composition.
After aligning some elements along the lines I had the feeling it was more harmonious

Oh yeah I figured something like that. I have used the 3 by 3 rule before but not this. Fascinating how it does work indeed
Well done!

Looks great! The blurry effect on the monster is amazingly done Only the stream of light following the blast of the sorceress seems a bit tricky compared to the current position of the body. Anyway, very well detailed work and I like it a lot especially with the step by step pictures.
